Who is "everyone" and what button?  Just used the site's search function and searched for all instances of the word "button" for the last 150 days.  No mention I could in any way referencing some mystery button under the passenger seat.

On the 2012 SERGC and probably the 2013's the passenger pillion has a threaded hole on the backside. (the side next to the fender)
When you run just the riders seat and not the passenger pillion there is a hole in the fender for the chrome plastic bolt that was under the pillion.
In that threaded hole on the backside of the pillion is a chrome (plastic) button that screws into the hole on the fender.
Running just solo you use the chrome button in the fender and the pillion bolt screws into the same hole underneath.
Running both the pillion and the riders seat you use the regular seat bolt and the chrome button stays under the pillion till you need it.
Don't make me go take a picture.
It's late.

The chrome button is a real pain to remove, at least in my case.  I used some very strong tape to remove it from the pillon.

Sorry no pics

Thanks Chip.  I couldn't figure out what he was asking about.  Knew about the spare part you describe.  Had no idea what "button" was being asked about.

Now I'm depressed.  Thought there was some new cool super secret function with its controll hidden away under the rear end of the BSRs.  Special button for JATO or a rear seat vibrator or something else equally as cool.  But it's just spare bits....

The fender with just the riders seat and the chrome button in place.

Since the passenger pillion is not on the bike the bolt that holds it to the fender goes here.
When it's mounted the bolt holds the pillion in place and the chrome bolt goes in the hole under the pillion.

Exactly.  If Harley could isolate the shakes in the 110 and transmit that vibration to a specific target they'd have a whole new product line....

I couldn't agree more. It takes some digging for a newbie but there is a lot of good info in here.

I didn't have the button with mine and I was trying to figure out what to cover the threaded insert with and then read this thread. I ordered two just in case I loose one.  :2vrolijk_21:

Yes there is a chrome plastic button that fits in the center of the cushion.I believe its just to eliminate any sagging of the felt like material. Mine seems to come off easily.

As shown in the pictures earlier in this thread, it is to go into the threaded insert in the fender when only using the solo seat and the passenger seat knob will screw into the bottom of the pad when not on the bike.
