Ok, Group , Now I have 3 CVO's, Wife was going to shoot me, but I said I am done,...............For Awhile..............
Picked it up today near Altanta, GA from a fellow CVO Member here, and rode to Daytona today, almost 450 miles, COLD :) Bike ran nice, 11,000 miles when I picked it up, I think I understand the buffering issue, Which replacement wind shields are working the best as I am 6'1"
Thanks

Congrats on the new scoot! Photos of the stable please.

Congrats......good luck with the shield. I still haven't found the "right" one yet. I've tried a KW and it didn't line up in the holes worth a crap. Still got too much air. 10" WV was worse. I'm right about 6' so I'm close to your height. I'm actually considering taking the stocker and having the top 1" cut off just to get to the height I want. That bike has different spacing in the outside holes from a regular RG. I've checked into the CB also but after taking measurements, they don't have anything the right height I'm looking for.

Congratulations on the new ride! :2vrolijk_21: If you're looking for a windshield' at your height I would recommend the Cee Baileys 15 inch.

Great choice in a new ride. I've had mine for 2+ years now and really love it.
I have the National V-Stream windshield on mine. Feels good to me but your mileage may vary.

Has any one bought the 'Long Ride Shields' model for the Road Glide ?

I had an LRS on my batwing and loved it. Great service and pricing. That being said, I'm not crazy about their RG shields as their holes are slotted IIRC. Not too crazy about the look of that and you will fight like crazy to get the HD windshield trim on that bike to cover the holes in that shield from what I can tell in the pix.
I tried the chrome HD trim on mine and couldn't get it to fit so I took it back. Wasn't gonna waste $150 bending the hell out of it.
Roadglide.org has a great thread on RG windshields. I think that same thread may be on here somewhere. It shows where to measure from with responses from people with all kinds of shields to figure out a "standard" height. Some shields that are (example) 13" are the same as others that are measured as 11". Manufacturers seem to have different ways of measuring them. Some of the mfgs also have a different "slant" or "rise" of their shields.

I have finally settled on a Clearview GT13. It's a recurve windshield in light tint. Works for me, but the only way to get one right is to measure for yourself, for your needs. Also, make sure the wings provided with the bike are on...they are black plastic dampers that go from the top of the crashbar to the bolt on the front of the tank on each side. They help.

congrats on the new addition you have very good taste in rides ..even got the best color...i;m 6 ft tall I have tried a couple of different shields spent a year with the OE one and didnt have too many real issues got the medium height clearview light tint and found the difference wasnt worth the money and the black stripe at the bottom of the shield bubbled at the mounting points so I removed the tape masked the strip and painted it with flat black rattle can looked great ..just recently put on a 15 inch LRS Mako works better the line of sight is better got the darker tint for looks ..I still dont find a vastly better ride but the BSR says she gets less wind from the sides so that makes for a happier life for me bike has 20k miles now and still loving it

FYI,
I buddy of mine has an '05 RG, not a CVO, but same nose etc. He just cut his own stock windshield down by 1"with a jig saw. He added a nice radius and at the ends, he flattened it out with a 90 degree angle. When he was finished, he bought chrome door molding used on cars and ran it around the edge. I know, it sounds cheesy but I swear it looks awesome! I will snap a pick next time we ride together. His RG is black and he also used the trim on the saddle bag lid edge too. I know, I know, sounds cheap, but i was shocked at how good it looked!

There's only one way to get a windshield of the proper height...MEASURE! Then pick one with a recurve at the top so you can look over it but still get good protection.

Had the bike detailed, when my guy brought it Back, He pointed out that the front tire had started to 'crack' , the windshield also had a crack, and a small oil leak off the oil sensor,
Carefully rode the the Bike To NSB Harley and saw Tony the SM, He looked every thing over , said these are all cover under the 24 Month Warranty , I left the bike , 3 hours later they call said tire was replaced, Leak found and fixed and Windshield was ordered.
Just Good Service from a Dealer, And I am Giving them a "SHOUT OUT" for a GOOD JOB !......... :2vrolijk_21:
