A stock paint job is one thing... They can get new tins. But a custom job like that can never be replaced like it was. I'd be beyond pissed!

ooooo, that really hurt and it's not even my bike!  What a mess.

Guess the line that the service managers use "They all do that" wouldn't fit here....

If I was the one working on the bike I would just go home and not come back...

No really, that would suck. I am sure they were afraid to clamp too hard on that rim. It looks like it is still ok!

I'd probably just hand the client a blank check and hope he spent some of it with me.

Happens more than you think, had a buddy who dropped his at home in his shop.  Lets say it took a while to get it back upright while causeing as little extra damage as posible.

Minimally, that's a $7,500 mistake. The whole bike will need the be repainted to make the color and graphics. That alone could be an easy $5,000.

Maybe as high as $10,000!

Mistakes happen but Holy Cow!

Wouldn't be surprised if they just waited for them to come in and tell them it was like that when you brought it in.  He he he.   That's when I would actually jump over a counter and choke someone.  But a strait up shop would spare no expense to make it right and have a pretty nice ride for them while its in the shop.  Plus a little extra credit toward some free service work to keep their business hopefully.

I don't know what I would do if that were my bike. I had a maintenance tech dump a forklift off his lift truck once at my shop and I darn near blew a gasket (the Irish in me). If it had been my bike, or even my truck, there would be assault charges I'm sure. Need to work on that I guess.
