Title: Buky Bars California made...
Post by: 2013SERG on April 24, 2013, 12:55:20 AM
I went to install the Yaffe 10's on my RG last week and the mechanic told me that he wouldn't go any further as his nylon string was frayed from 2 pulls.

He suggested that I look at Buky Bars, I never heard of that company before, so I did and Wow, what pieces of art they have created.

I went to Buky today and talked to the Owner/Fabricator and General manager and told them what I wanted and what I rode, we quickly came up with a Special designed bar without the Meat Hook.

It's going to take 3 weeks or less to get the bars from scratch to tailor made for me, Going with 20'' and Inch and a 1/2's thick.

Once they're on the CVO, these are going to attract Ape lovers and be a image bike for their company, I just know it...
Kinda looks like this, will post pics upon completion.

Ok guys and gals,
I made a deal with Buky and will be the only CVO RG with their bars for now and I will advertise for them and also to help them get sales.
I decided today the bars were going to do are the Malo Models.
I'll be posting the finished pics/Installed in about 3 weeks, the production time is 2-3 weeks out. These are what they're going to look like to give us a better idea of the style.

Wow, those bars are high!  I have 18" apes on my Softails and they do not look that high.  Maybe Wild One and Carlini will have some new competition.  SJ Ron :)

SJR,
The very first day I rode the bike with the new bars, someone saw them and said I need some of those in 18's.
I should be on Bukys Payroll I can just see it now :)

BTW, Direct cycle parts ,in California recommended me to The Bike Shop in Chino to do the work for the Bar installation, I told frank at DCP that I didn't and wasn't going to trust Any Clown with a toolbox and a business care to touch my bike.
What a class act this guy Bill is over there.
I'd never go anywhere else to have anything done on my CvO ever again

That's a bad a$$ shot of the bike. Hopefully they can do my bars I want. I was looking at some other bars, but didn't want that preverbial "meat hook" that is so popular.

I'm glad you got that "custom" job done by Buky and posted on this site, cause that's the ones I want... I sent them a message and hope this can be done... 12" rise Malo x 1 1/2" bars...don't think I could do 20's. again, good looking ride...

Any difficulty mounting the brake and clutch reservoir ?
It doesn't look like there is a flat spot for them to fit.

Thanks,
Fitment is actually better than stock, theres no gap like the stock bars have @ the Grips, Where the bars begin.
Talk to LUIS AKA Bukster @ Buky, as he is the Fabricator and mastermind behind the operation.

I ordered: 16" Buky Bars (Odyssey in Black) 1-1/2" stepped to 1-1/4" for Risers. Just wondering what ABS Cable & Hydraulic Clutch Cable Length you went with for your 20"s? They don't sell the Cables so I have to order them separately and I want them hiding beside bars like yours...

Buky will make the clamp area 1.25 for you, so you don't have to change out the clamp or risers.

I'm really surprised that no cables with 12" bars. that's great news!   how about the wiring?   so this is a pretty basic install?  I would be installing these on a 2012 road glide skunk!

I just bought the Odyssey Handle Bar 16" Rise 1.5" Thick from Buky Bars and used Stock Hydraulic Clutch Cable & Stock ABS Cables. Was shocked that it worked. Have full range of motion. Just had to reroute. Absolutely Love them! :)

Hey Folks.

So just to recap, all wiring ran in handlebars and no extension of wires needed.
