Has anyone put a 200 rear on a 2009 fxdfse. If so what size. I assume 200/60/16. What brand? Did you find a matching 130/90/16 for the front? Are there any issues with belt or swingarm due to width?
Failing that if replacing the Dunlop d427s.... Can anyone opine on the new Michelin Scortcher 32's

Bit quiet here in the fatbob section.
200 rear tyre is something I have thought about but been doing other stuff.
I was looking at Avon Venoms I think.
Maybe try vtwin forum or hd forum.
The standard 09 and 10 would be the same as the cvo.

If you decide to pursue the 200 tire idea, don't forget that you will likely need a new wheel as well. Most 200 tires I've researched require at least a 6.00 inch rim width, and the stock rim on your bike is 5.00 inches.

NO i had not considered that. Thank you! This is a friends bike; he is about ready for new rubber. He's been told by some of the "know it all" riders at the local coffee shop that he should go with a 200mm. When he asked me i had my doubts looking at the proximity of the belt to the tire on the current 180... but sometimes thing don't measure as they seem to look.

metzeler tires (880 marathon) in 200 width are very common here in europe on fat bob with genuine wheels.
They are very good even under wet condition, however, they do not last as long as the dunlop (the price for safety).

The Metzler USA site doesn't list a 200 - 16 ME880, and if you choose the CVO Fat Bob in their tire selector it comes back with a statement "sorry, no result found". Perhaps they don't offer the same tires in the USA?
Anyhow, I'd still be very careful about assuming the 200 is truly compatible with the 5.00 inch rim. I'd want to see the specs myself, with the recommended rim size the tire was designed to fit. Trust me, it makes a difference. Just because some people install tires that don't meet OE specs and seem to get away with it, it doesn't mean it's a very bright thing to do.

I ride with a guy that has a '09 Fat Boy-Non CVO. It has a 200 on the rear but I was never interested enough to ask if it was stock. He bought the bike used and probably don't know. Anybody know?

The stock rear on an '09 Fatboy was a D407 200/55R17 BW, and the wheel was a 17 x 6.00".

There are many discussions if 5.00 inches is safe for 200, however, even german TÜV (technical evaluation authority) accepted these tires on many fat-bobs. So while it is considered safe, it might not be optimal on the genuine wheel.
The tire combination most fat bobbers use is
ME 880 Marathon 200/60 R16 TL 79V M/C
ME 880 Marathon Front 130/90 -16 TL 67 H M/C
I personally prefer 180 metzeler as rear tire. The CVO is very handsome but agile with that size.
