How does one go about reading it to see which is liquid cooled and which isn't?
You can't. That information isn't detailed in those reports. Best you can do is infer what changes might be based on reported emissions differences. So while the following tells us absolutely nothing specifically for those that are sure there is something unheard to be learned by tossed runes or pool boy ruminations consider the following:
If you look at the emissions outputs for the reports that cover the CVO Ultras from 2012 to 2013 the emissions outputs are unchanged. Since the bikes stayed the same that's not surprising. 12 and 13 stayed the same. 2014, however, changes. Quite a bit actually. So while some of us may know for sure what has changed, what color it is and how many bubbles it blows the only thing I really know is something has changed. Everyone can have fun trying to figure out what it is for another few days until the bikes are released... :P
-
Saddly there is no CVO SG

EXACTALY!!!! They were hardest to put your hands on. Most were sold before the dealer meeting was over!!!
Still kinda wondering about the CVO ULTRA LIMITED???? Looks like the the limited is top of the line again. But the Limited comes pretty well equipped. Sooooo are they just changing the names of the line up????? I'm still wondering about the water cooled touring bikes I was told about. Are they being produced now or are they going to be a mid year release??? Inquiring minds want to know.

So now we know what they will be. Now we wait to see if there will be any Orange / Black combo's! The Deluxe CVO sounds interesting.

Harley web page gets updated Monday with the new colors.

The Deluxe is a beautiful bike. In CVO trim it should be a real head-turner.
Is this the first year with two different CVO Softails?

Yes, Kinda wierd
-
a CVO Ultra Limited???? isnt that a bit redundant?
Yes, but there is a marketing reason behind it, probably. Made we wonder if they are considering a "Limited" trim level on other model styles (Softails?) besides Touring. Or maybe they extend the term Limited to the Trike eventually?
-
a CVO Ultra Limited???? isnt that a bit redundant?
Harley will use any reason to justify a higher price point. Even redundancy.
Remember, we're not supposed to think about this stuff too much......

HUGE emissions differences for the 2014 bike! They are WAY down. Something has to explain how they are achieving that.
Perhaps if they are going to liquid cooling, if only for the heads, they can run even more lean without the prohibitive heat of a purely-air-cooled engine.

The liquid cooled motor is not speculation!!!!! I have a friend that works in the Final Assembly Plant. He told me there was a liquid cooled motor and they were having problems. He did mention the STREET GLIDE!!! He would tell me nothing else PERIOD!!!! He would not tell me if the problems were in the assembly of the unit or with the running unit. He also would not let me know anything about anything CVO!!!

As long as you don't mind only riding when it rains, Harleys have always been "water" cooled. What's the big deal?

The SG Special is listed in the CARB sheets with the rest of the touring bikes with the higher emissions numbers, so it probably isn't liquid cooling on that bike. Only the CVO Ultra Limited, the Ultra Limited, and the Ultra Limited Shrine edition are on the separate lower emissions sheet.
I wonder if it's liquid cooling, CANBUS, or a combination of the two that is producing the lower emissions number on the Limiteds? It would be weird for them to finally come out with CANBUS for the touring bikes - but only on the Limiteds.
We will all find out soon!

That is a good point Jerry. Sometimes I have been water cooled at the same time, and there was nothing special about it. ;D
Given Harley's track record on reliability of new intros, if you are riding a new liquid cooled bike, there is a good chance both you & the bike could be randomly liquid cooled, depending on how big the leak (s?) is?.

I don't want to get the guy fired. He said WATER COOLED!!!! He also said problems with the Street Glide. He did not say the Street Glide was water cooled. He never told me the problems with the Street Glide. He never placed the WATER COOLED and the STREET GLIDE together. We will know tomorrow which models are water cooled. For me I could care less. I am not buying a new bike this year. Hell I just got one and can't even ride it right now.
SOOOOOOOO I wonder how many people on the site are watching HD's web site through the night????

Things are getting out of hand here with the speculation. I know a guy who knows a gal who dates a guy who has a son who knows how to spell Harly Davidsun. He says, and I say this with complete confidence, that Harley is coming out with a water cooler. It will hold 5 1/2 gallons of water and will be able to be used in any businness. There will be a set of chrome (or black if you choose) accessories that will allow you to mount this water cooler to your motorcicle, thereby giving you a Harley Davidson with a water cooler.
You can now all quit speculating on just what the carb sheet tea leaves foretell.

Coming from a guy with a screen name of buy early :huepfenjump3:
Exactly! I already have my Harley Davidson water cooler on pre-order. Keep in mind, the spy photo below was of an earlier 3 gallon prototype model, but you can see the eagle wings and barely make out the name. Of course, I am really hoping they make a chrome model. I realize black is the new fad but nothing beats chrome!
It's easy to see how flashy these will look mounted on either a touring bike, bagger, or bar hopper.
I'm guessing the spigot will leak for at least the first two model years and you can tell they still hadn't figured what type of hinges to use for the lid.

It appears they still have the oil cooler. Evidently only the heads are cooled by the radiator as most expected. Kinda looks like an afterthought or aftermarket approach . Maybe I was expecting something more along the lines of the v-rod engine for the wet ones.
