Title: 2003-2004 CVO Deuce exhaust help
Post by: bigsixman on September 30, 2013, 10:26:11 PM
I just purchased a 2003 CVO Screamin Eagle Deuce with a set of Bassani exhaust installed and the original OEM system included. I switched out the two exhausts today and there is one 8" black mounting bracket left over after the installation. The large gold painted cast bracket mounts the mufflers and there is a small slotted black bracket that attaches to the tranny side cover and attaches to a chrome bracket that slides on the lower exhaust pipe. Does anyone know if the 8" bracket is part of the OEM mounting system or if it is left over from the aftermarket Bassani shorty system? If it is part of the OEM system, please chime in and tell me where it attaches to the bike and what it does. My 2007 Deuce stock system is different, so it does not help to look at it. Thanks in advance.

I received my 2003 CVO Deuce fxstdse parts manual and the extra 8" black bracket that was included in the purchase is not used on the 2003 CVO Deuce.

Sounds as if the previous owner or whomever put the Bassani on left the brackets..It seems aftermarket to me.  Id have to look at it to actually tell ya but from what I read, it seems aftrmarket but Im no builder..haha
