Post by: Madchad on September 12, 2014, 08:16:32 AM
Looking to remove the ugly headset plug in panel on the tank dash. Anyone know what part from harley I need to replace it with? Just want a flat one if possible. Part number would be helpful. Thanks guys

Same boat here.  Just made the tour pack detachable and will be ridding myself of the factory sound or better items.  Never used the cb/intercom, never will.  I too would like a flat panel.

Anyone???

The actual console part number is 61270-08, and that just so happens to be the same console that came on the 2009 CVO Road Glide.  That model did not come with a CB, so it has a flat pod and insert.  I don't remember if the insert was chrome, but it did have a small CVO emblem on it.  So perhaps this would be the answer.  I'm not sure if that insert is a protected part (only for sale to owners of a FLTRSE3), but you could ask your parts guy.

70014-09   Insert, Console Pod

71701-09   Insert, Console, FLRTSE3

Just a possibility.  You could also check the aftermarket catalogs like J&P, Drag, etc.

You can look at my new post about the Tag bracket I have a pic the console yall are talking about. Hey Neil1b did you use the tag bracket in the detach kit and if so can you snap a pic of it?
