Title: CVO Road Glide question...
Post by: 2 ROSE on September 23, 2014, 11:29:21 AM
Hey you CVO RG riders. I am sitting in Mcdonalds having breakfast reading my HOG mag and just got to the article on the 2015 Road Glide. Then at the end was a pix and small blurb of a CVO model. So I got on this CVO forum and damn sure enough a lot of you guys already have one. I like the looks of them especially the CVO model. I currently ride a 2012 CVO Convertible. I like the versatility of the convertible...being able to remove the bags and all quickly. My main question is this...is the rear touring pack, passenger seat and backrest removable? I hope so because I prefer to ride local without them. I would probably wait one or two years so as to get the later editions of the rg cvo model.
Thanks for any in put and good luck with your new rides.

The answer to your question is yes. Everything can be made removable with a kit from Harley.

New models don't need the detach kit. Four bolts and it's off. Unplug and stow the wires and you're good to go.

That is very true.  However you will still have to relocate the plate, and have a means to light it.  I will be doing it by adding a street glide curved plate frame, and then a Kuryakyn lighted outer frame.  You would also want true to filler strips from a RG special or other that are chrome to fill in the slots where the TP was mounted.

I have all the parts now to do this, got the chrome fillers off my wives RG Special when they put the 4 point docking hardware on.
