In Virginia they like the inspection sticker on the front left fork area (as you are sitting on the bike). Harley dealers put it on a plate attached near the brake caliper mounting screw. Import dealers just apply sticker directly to the fork leg.
You should check your state inspection laws to see if they want sticker visible from the rear or a particular side of the bike.

The OP of this thread was also from Texas:  Inspection sticker (http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=56134.0)

Dealer used existing screw on TP bracket to mount chrome plate.  TX law says "must be visible from back of bike".

This seems to work - tho' I haven't been pulled over, either!   :bananarock:

For the most part I'm loving it. It needs the standard pipes, tune, bars, etc, that I always do. I hate the rear floorboards getting in the way when I'm trying to backup, makes it near impossible at times.

My solution for the time being was to switch the floorboard mounts.  You have the pice mounted to the bike, then the piece mourned to the piece mourned to the bike that the floorboards are on.  Remove the floorboard right side and keep it on that side of the bike.  The piece the floor board was on, move to the left side of the bike .  And the middle piece on the left side of the bike move to the right side of the bike.  This gains three or so inches of clearance for backing the bike. The piece you are switching sides in the one in the picture you see the two allen bolts in.   If you look at my picture you can see how the passenger floor board is now sitting farther back.  you can now see all the primary.
