Title: FLSTNSE winter project finished
Post by: FLSTNSE15 on January 25, 2015, 09:18:01 AM
Hello together,

as mentioned in previous postings I had got my FLSTNSE beginning of this winter and just started the first modifications. First thing was that the bike was in a bad condition and I had several warranty claims. Most are fixed now and here are only the highlights.
- leather on the saddle bags was damaged and I got a complete new set of saddle bags
- chrash bar was rusty and HD changed it
- CVO tip on the front fender was not installed, got it separate and fixed it by myself
- lots of screws not tighten correct and fixed it by myself with blue Loctite
- daymakers not installed, got new from HD Germany

Now to the planned changes for this year:

- installed solo Police seat from Don Larosa together with transversition kit from EASYRIDER/Japan
- sold the attached HD Roadtech Navi in Ebay and changed to the new Garmin 590 together with tire pressure valves ( very smart and usefull system )
- I am just working on the heat demons and waiting for the SE shift linkage from PUZZLED after that I am fine for this winter.

I know you like pictures, here they are:

very nice, does the 590 dock on the same mount the roadtech did or require modification? Also, is that the stock windshield? Looks smaller than my 2014.

Hi Dirtyike,

you are right about the windshield. It is the stock windshield but I used a "plastic- shop" here in Germany to shorten it so that it has a better fit to my needs. Sorry to say but the docking station doesnt fit. You have to disassemble the whole windshild, by the way that was a good opportunity to shorten the plastic, and than you need some small adjustments on the windshield site so that the new docking Station from the 590 fits into the stock bracket. It is only 1-2 mm but it needs some modification.
