07 FLHTCUSE2 Back and better than ever
« on: January 03, 2007, 01:48:37 AM »

[smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] Today I picked up my SEUC from Cycle City here in Honolulu after a long a trying time down for the complete engine replacement. It was initially diagnosed on the 16th of November and after waiting on an engine and other part it is finally back and running better than ever. While they were doing the engine swap I had them install a SE A/C, SERT with map #84 and SAMSON Caliber stepped true duel headers and mufflers with the performance baffles. I also installed an oil temperature dip stick just to see how hot the oil is getting.

take care
Mark

now I know I need a pic with the new pipes on it...

Congrats Mark. Good luck with this one. You must have been going nuts after getting a new CVO bike and needing a motor replacement. Did they give you the reason for the failure? Is it a fluke or is there an issue? I'm a little curious. Mine ships in 9 days. Enjoy it! ;) Hoist!  8-)

Hoist,

From the obvious appearance I along with the tech who took the engine off diagnosed it as a heat problem, but the tech were not allowed per MoCo to tear it open. They had to crate it up and send it back to MoCo for them to do diagnostics on it. I am sure no one will know for sure. But the 110 badge on the rear hear was yellow and the exhaust port was burnt and pipes were blue.

Thanks Mark. If you hear anything, please let us know. Good reason to do the SERT now. Get that A/F ratio where it belongs. I'm glad, they seemed to have made you happy at least. And it didn't drag on too long (although any downtime is too long). Good way to start the new year! ;) Hoist!  8-)

Hoist,

I have nothing but praise for the Cycle City team. Service was a little slow but this was due to waiting on parts but they gave me a Free Loaner Road Glide, discount on all parts, and free installation on everything.

Sounds like they were really righteous about everything. Aren't you glad you had your 2 Year Warranty!!! ;) Hoist!  8-)

Glad to hear you are back riding your own bike.  What did you think of the Roadglide?

Mark,

Good news, did they ever tell you exactly what was wrong?

Boatman,

The Road Glide wasn't bad for a loaner, but I wouldn't trade my SEUC for one. My wife hated the Road Glide riding 2-up, she got a lot more wind on the back and the ride wasn't nearly as plush. For a solo touring bike it is good.

Napalm,

I doubt I will ever hear back from CVO at the MoCo what went wrong with the engine.

Glad you got it back.  How do you like the Sampsons?  Don't know of anyone around here who runs them.  SE, V&H, Rineharts, D&D seem to be the most popular.

Oops, just saw your post about the Sampsons under intake/exhaust topic.   [smiley=cherry.gif]

UltraFXR,

I really like the Samsons, they are louder than the Rineharts I think. I had them install the larger performance baffles and they sound good and have nice back pressure. They are a little smaller in diameter than the others 3" mufflers not 3.5". But they have a clean appearance with the true duel headers.
