Just installed Arc amp and...
« on: March 01, 2015, 02:32:08 PM »

Just installed an Arc Audio amp and Kenwood deck, and also installed Headwinds LED headlights. I trickle charged the battery before I finished the job because the bike had been sitting for over a month. After I started the bike I noticed the charging rate at idle was over 15 volts.
I never had a charging issue before, can anyone explain why its so high? Im going to take it out here this afternoon for a short trip to see if it settlles down, I dont want to cook the battery. Any help would be appreciated.
Another thought if either of these two things would cause the rate to change, is the rate adjustable in the ECM to alleviate this?

Never mind. Got it, its a defective voltage gauge. Thank God for ext. warranty, deductable is cheaper than the gauge, plus the l/r tail light module is out also.
