Would it be possible to just buy the new batwing and new navigation screen and bolt it on an older bike, like 2012 cvo street glide? And is it worth the effort and cost? What you all think? Never rode a new one is there a big difference between the new and old other than the infotainment system?

Anything is possible but the Rushmore bikes have an entirely different system, canbus, which is not compatible with the older bikes.  It would not be worth the effort or cost.

I like my bikes setup and can't really complain of buffeting, but i reallylike the new screen.

There was a thread on HDForum where a guy did this. He did not convert the whole CanBus system over, just the fairing with the mail slot.

I believe he said he worked at a dealership and decided to convert his bike for the look rather than buying a new bike. From what I remember it wasn't all that difficult but the gauges mounted differently and required some fab work to complete.

As someone else posted......anything can be done. If you want custom and aren't afraid of some work go for it. If you're looking for direct bolt on, that's not gonna happen in this case.

Like ^^^ said, there is a guy on hdf that changed his fairing out but went aftermarket for his radio. If I were to do it, I would look at Parrot Asteroid smart system for a touch display and an added bonus would be if they sell a joystick or something to assist with the touch screen. I have a buddy that put the Asteroid in a custom car and loves it. It's a pretty neat system.

The cheaper solution is to get a Hoppes Industries fairing and a zumo and mount it.  I did that to my RoadStar. It worked very well.  There is also a company called wide open and dragonfly that make what you are looking for.  You just need a good paint guy to  finish it.  The one I hade could be removes and installed in 5 minutes after the initial set up.  Oops,  I just noticed you are riding a road glide ,   Never mind!
