This has overtones of the peeling chrome epidemic!

Damn!, I lost mine after about 3k miles also. What gives? Replaced it with a nut and compression washer. Made it to 19k w/o it falling off again. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Yep, mine was gone too. Dealer put a new one one. Seems Harley's "quality control" folks just don't control enough. (if they're  even looking) With the guages that don't work, the clutch that chatters and the nuts, paint and chrome that fall off, does anyone get the feeling that Harley's backsliding to the bowling ball days? But they still look pretty good, don't they.

Count me in on the lost my nut list. I finally remembered to look and it was gone.
