After seeing this thread, I did it the easy way. I got free updates (in writing) from dealer for life before purchase.
 I call ahead. Go to dealership. Go across the street. Have a burger and a beer or two. Go back to dealership and check that they actually did update and I'm outta there. The best way to update as long as you can keep from spending a bunch of money while at dealer.

Probably didn't think of that because the dealer will likely really screw it up, or something else like scratch it while it is there.
