He was the best back in the day. I wanted the Beatnik Bandit in the early 60's.
Oh the memories.

Big Time memories, grew up not far from his shop and for a spell made friends with his watchdog, a guy called "Fats" who stayed there and certain nights I could bring a 12 pack of bud and hangout sit in cars personal tour kinda. More connects came later in life too. RIP George.

I too grew up in the Valley and loved his shop and work. George and I had a great conversation about the Batmobile I used to sneak into as a kid, it was covered in felt, he said it was #7 and was for when they didn't want glare from the lights.

Yes, one of the Batmobile cars was there. Here is one to bring you back in time. We watched the Corvette Summer being filmed on Van Nuys, so this is a flashback for me as well.

Dude Corvette Summer was also filmed at my high school while we were in session around 77-78 somewhere in there my buddy Jon got his mug in that movie.

Beatnik Bandit was built by Big Daddy Roth, not George Barris. Barris was probably the best at what he did but Roth was good as well
RIP Mr Barris
