Surprising they are faster than a normal turtle but by the time I got my phone he was pretty far away. If you run up on them they tuck in fast to protect themselves.  They have burrows all over this area. If you run them off more than likely a rather fair size rattle snake takes over the burrow so turtles are my choice.   Saw a skin 7 1/2 feet long two streets over from us of a rattlesnake the guy killed in front of his house in April while sunning itself on the road.

Florida continues to amaze us. Today while out just touring the countryside we were blessed with a sighting of a rare extinct animal.  It was the Hernandoe County Concretious Broken Tailed Headless  Sauroposeidon.  The new We had no idea such a creature existed so close to our new home.
