I think I saw a Putty Cat
« Reply #300 on: March 27, 2018, 02:01:46 AM »

I live out in the middle of nowhere east of El Paso, TX.  For the past year or so, we were having issues with drug runners (mules) and people smugglers (coyotes) crossing our land at night to by pass the border patrol checkpoints.

To help catch the folks, I set up some game cams near a stock tank we have on our property.  We were able to help catch some poachers.  The big deer went missing after the poachers came by.

Other then the cows, rabbits, road runners, quail, dove, vultures, we had some interesting visitors.

This is the big buck that went missing right before deer season opened.  At one time we had about 10-15 deer running around the area with a few bucks.

Lots of Javelin too.  Have quite a few of them out here.  Including the three little pigs.

Jaguar?  Never saw one, only big cats I saw in Texas were cougars.  A vet used to hunt big cats near & over the Mexican border, did pretty well, sheep & goat ranchers were grateful.

It is a bobcat. We also have a cougar (feline type) who passes thru the area. I just don’t have any pictures yet.

We did have a photo of a coyote that was very red and everyone thought it was a Mexican red wolf.  The local game warden told us it was a coyote. Red wolves around here were wiped out.

Tail looked long to me in the pic.  Saw bobcats in West Texas.  Have never seen a wolf there - any kind.  Saw a lot of coyotes people liked to call wolves, have seen some reddish ones  but not as red as you describe.  Foxes, porcupines - you name it.  Cougar I saw was a female, tailing a doe with 2 young fawns at about dusk.  Let her walk, no doubt 1 less fawn by the next morning.

You have a good place & a good spot for a camera.  Enjoyed your pics.   :2vrolijk_21:
