The sound from the speakers in the lower is better than the wing IMHO. I have faded the wing ones down and drive the lowers more.

I know some guys can't understand why a person would pull apart a factory custom bike, but I feel the need to make any bike I own stand out from the rest and take pride in doing it myself. The CVO boys at H-D get allot of the work out of the way for ya, but they leave you things to do intensionally. I feel we are meeting their challenge.
I would  sooner have had a SEEG, but this was the year I was ready to buy, so I settled for an CUSE and basically turned it into a SEEG. Guys I know stayed away from these bikes because they were not aware you could make the tour pack quick detach. With the help of this web site and Jim at Hawg Wired, we know we can. There isn't anything I have done to my bike that a long weekend couldn't make it go back too bone stock again...that's the nice thing about it. IMHO.

I am dissapointed the MOCO didn't release any engine chrome for the new motors at the dealer show. My dealer said they may still come out some later on. Lets hope so.

I won't take responsibility for retina damage, but you must have missed reply #22.

I'm glad you like the console, I think it blends in nicely as well as adding to the SEEG look when the pack is off.
Part # 71288-03A, stock on the SEEG.
Don't forget that you may want to be using a short neck seat with this console to really how it off. The one you see on my bike is a stock RK custom seat. I found it to be about the leanest in the passenger area and still maintain the ability to use the rider backrest. I am planing on gluing a soft felt pad under the neck of the stock seat to prevent scratches on the console when mama goes on a long trip and we put the tour pack on. The stock seat looks HUGE with the pack off.
I have a badlander I will use for local rides or a show n shine...just three fasteners pulls the backrest hardware. Sometimes lookin good and ridin cumphy don't mix.

Hey JD, Yea, I missed it, some nice LED lighting from Jim would show that starter of better, be sure and get the remote control keychain with that LED set up. 
     Ive been toying with the idea of changing the tank console, and was planning on getting a corbin seat made to fit. I like the look of the pre'06 console's. I dont like the stock seat running half way up the tank, design flaw in my opinion, Thanks for part number.

Robmay, The red boxes are the Hawg Wired amps. The center one is 150 watts and the other two tye in at 75 watts a piece for a total of 300 watts. The two small amps are called satelite amps....no, not to amplify satelite reception, but to act as alternately located amps. This system all plugs into each other. It is a very clean plug in system that has excellent instructions and is easy to install if you like wrenching on bikes.
I doubt that the factory amp could tye in and add another 75 watts (I think thats what they are?). Personally I don't think you need more.....lets see from 75 to 300 watts. HUGE DIFFERANCE!!!. If anyone is running the 2 channel H-W system, its time to expand that system baby. The speakers in the lowers make it. IMHO, they supply the best sound. I fade the wing speakers down to make the lowers stand out more.
hd-dood supplied me with my goodies and would be better able to answer your factory amp system question.
My suggestion would be to anyone thinking of going with H-W goods and don't want to do it all at once, MAKE SURE YOU ARE ABLE TO EXPAND......cuz yur gunna wanna.  .....BTW Jim, when do I start getting commission checks?

No, not exactly. What Jim was meaning is that you CAN leave you HK amp in place...run all four factory speakers....PLUS you can add the HW 2 channel amp in the fairing to feed an addition 2 speakers you would run in your lowers for a total of 6 speakers. I do believe that your fade will act as a front to rear fade and not a wing to lowers fade. Once again, Jim would better answer that.

The normal scenario is that the factory amp is removed and not used at all. The HW amp and speakers are installed, and everything works fine, front and rear.

Things can get a bit more complicated when you throw the lower speakers into the mix. Normally, the lower speakers are being used because the TP has been removed. When there is no TP, and lower speakers are used, your Front is still front, but Rear becomes lowers.

I don't think trying to hook in the factory amp with the HW amp would be a wise idea, and would probably get pretty complicated. That amp is puny in comparison to the HW amp and I think with 300 W coming at you from the front, you'll quickly forget you ever had rear speakers.

If you were doing the 300 watt system, you would get rid of the rear amp and its harnes (to clean things up), make the tour pack quick detach. The new amps (like shown in my pic) hook up to the stock HK stereo. Plugs in real sweet. You have to do 2 splices and thats it.

I'm not sure you can run 6 speakers on a 4 channel system. I'm sure you could have 6 HW speakers that would maybe have the lowers and tour pak ones on a toggle switch so that you run one or the other. BUT...4 in your face is better than 2 and then 2 in your back...PLUS I'm assuming mama's butt might be covering half the rear speakers. No offence mama

  So true! Great info. My wife doesn't like the music quite as loud as I do. I only like to feel it if its quality sound which is why I am inquiring about this system. Interesting idea. I will consider doing that.  I actually do not use the front storages anyway so may be converting them the way harlez4me did is a way.

Getting some storage at the back for my othe half could be useful as well.

At the moment I ordered only 4 speaker set up and just started to think if I should install those 4 speakers in their standard place or following harlez4me idea and installing all 4 at the front.

First of all as far as I am concerned there is no such thing as too much sound. I always ride in helmet and this results in a certain quality of sound that I can hear. Generally as discussed during the time of purchase the stock system is not good enough for me.

If I go with the six speaker set up there is no doubt I would want to have Hawg Wired all around.

Finally a question.  If getting another 2 channel amp where would it be installed if not under the tour pak? Again behind the dash?

If you just want the 4 speakers in the stock locations you would go with the 4-channel system. I would recomend the CX series speakers in the fairing and the BT series speakers in the rear pods.

First of all as far as I am concerned there is no such thing as too much sound. I always ride in helmet and this results in a certain quality of sound that I can hear. Generally as discussed during the time of purchase the stock system is not good enough for me.

If I go with the six speaker set up there is no doubt I would want to have Hawg Wired all around.

Finally a question.  If getting another 2 channel amp where would it be installed if not under the tour pak? Again behind the dash?

That sounds great.  It has to be good having a resident expert.  It is something I would definitely consider as some of my fist mods.  I just need to spend some time with the stock system to experience true MoCo sound

hd-dude was a great with assistance in helping me get the HW kit installed. Phone calls and emails hd-dude was there for support. I did the 4 channel up front so I would recommend that if you can do it, you will learn more about your bike than the guy who installs the kit for you.

I certaintly did learn more doing the install myself and build up more confidence working on the bike to add in more chrome in addition to saving installation $$$.

"Learn to do by doing"  If you wanna do it, but are nervous, that means you CAN do it....with the help of many on this site. "The only stupid question is the one you don't ask." The people that DON"T want to do it, should just ride and pay the $$$$$ to the dealer of choice.
This goes with any mod, not just an amp install.

hello;  all ...  i  was  just  wandering  what  the  people are  doing  with  the AMP  when  they  put a  detach  tour-pak on  the  06 cuse..  how  are they  doing  it    anyone tryed  to  put it  in  the saddlebags  ?? or  does  the  wiring  harnass reach  to  try  an put  in  under  the  fairing ??   PLEASE  REPLY , WOULD  LIKE TO  GET  THIS  HANDLED ! !  THANKS , JEFF

I did not keep the rear AMP on the jester. I went with a new HW kit (amps and speakers) which all the new AMP's install in the front fairing. 

With the AMP removed it makes the rear look so much better without the factory amp still there.
