Indoor cover recommendations
« on: August 13, 2016, 07:32:24 PM »

Hey folks. Wonder if any of you could point me in the right direction for a cover for my breakout. Ideally I'd like to find something that doesn't fit like loose burlap bag.

Would have love to snag the original cover that came with it but the dealer couldn't get it from the original owner.

My garage gets fairly Dusty so I'd like to use something other than the sheet I'm using now. Dimensions of the biker same as stock, bars have been changed

If you want the one that came with the bike, the part number is  93100030 and it has an MSRP of $149.  Look at the discount dealers like Surdyke, etc., or try ebay to see if anyone is trying to sell theirs.

Well if I had my way I would be making my door from the garage  4 ft wide and bring the bike into the living room by the gas fireace.

I have a new CVO indoor cover for a Softail, part number is 91625-04.  I believe it came with a Deuce, see if size specs are similar to your Breakout.  Can't say for sure it will fit yours, but will sell for $110 shipped if you are interested.

been using sheets for forty years on , bikes, corvettes, hot rods, the trouble with heavy cover and tarp like covers , they will schrach your toys, no way to get the grit off after the first use, you can wash a sheet :huepfenlol2:

Could always try one of these if money isn't an issue:

A tight weave cotton sheet does make for a great indoor dust cover that doesn't trap moisture, but it takes some time and effort to make it easy and convenient to use.  If you have a seamstress or tailor in the family they could turn a king size sheet into a reasonably form fitted cover.  I tried that route many years ago for winter storage, but my tailoring talents are pretty pathetic so I dug out the CVO cover instead.  For the couple years I used the sheet, it did the job quite well after I secured it with small bungee cords looped under the bike in strategic locations.  And laylonlor is absolutely correct in saying it's much easier to clean a sheet versus that cover Harley provides.  I vacuum the daylights out of mine before folding it up and putting it back in the bag for the summer, but it's not really clean.  I'm afraid to try cleaning it in an industrial size Laundromat.  Wonder if anyone has ever done that successfully? :nixweiss:
