Stage 3 /117 upgrade to CVO Street Glide
« on: December 03, 2016, 10:01:06 PM »

Ok guys, I have decide to go with the stage 3 on my 2017 SESG. I will be running the stock exhaust for the time being. Once I get her broke in and have no mechanical issues then I will get a better exhaust.

Me, too.  Ordered the kit Friday.  By the way I love your bike choice and color. You obviously have outstanding taste.

Unless Harley has 114 " and 117" dyno sheets already, there won't be a dyno sheet. I am not doing a dyno.

Singlebeam, I agree there is no reason to do it.  I can share this, my '15 CVO which was tweaked and dynod by Fuel Moto was 110 hp/126 tq and in comparison to my '17 with the 117 kit, Street Cannons and HD tuner its pretty damn close using the old butt dyno.  And the tq is much quicker/lower in the curve.. Your going to love it even without knowing the numbers of a dyno.

Enjoy my friend, we wont see the smile hidden behind the beard as you grab some throttle....... but I will know its there

Totally agree with that. I have a 124 in my Roadglide and though the 117 of course doesn't run with it (dyno'd at 140hp, 132 Tq) completely, the bottom of the curve is fantastic and tons of fun. I couldn't be happier with it and am shocked I am saying that

Buy those rear tires four or five at a time and get a price break.  :P

Ok folks, I have been very busy at work. No time to play on here. Haven't even put many miles on the new 117 build, less than 100 miles since getting it done. I know it sounds much better. The idle is 100% better and the clutch is much better also. The clutch never felt hard to me but I didn't like where it engaged. That's all better now. It doesn't seem to have that big torque down real low like before. It's still plenty of grunt though. The thing I really like is she just keeps on keeping on now. Before after the initial torque surge it would fall off too much in my opinion. That's over now she will just go til you get out of it. I haven't ran it hard yet. Taking it easy on her til I get some miles on her. Just riding it back and forth to work. Which is only about 3 miles one way. I will get new exhaust and a better tuner after the break in is finished. I think the sest is a joke. It shouldn't even be called A tuner. I am going to get a dual tune license for my power vision and get a tune from Fuel Moto. I think with free flowing 2-1 exhaust with a ghost pipe and a good tune she should come alive....Later guys

Completed Stage 3/117 Kit with D&D 2 into 1 and Ghost Pipe.  Hope to have baseline Dyno numbers soon.  After heads coming off to Flow Bench baseline then clean up and install Woods WM8-9F60 Cam, BW-4V Springs,  Alpha Series M8-1012 Roller Lifters, and HPI Throttle Body...Then will see what the 4V can really do..
