Seat bag luggage
« on: January 17, 2017, 06:37:24 PM »

My last bike was a Electra Glide Classic and I used to use a saddleman seat bag, tried it on my 13RG with detachable tour pack and I've got no room to ride comfortably. I did like having the bag behind me as I wasn't adding weight on top of the tour pack . There is definitely less room on the RG, is anyone using a seat bag for the long haul? And if so what are you using? That Saddleman had 4100cu in of storage. Thanks

I have the Saddleman 3,800 size and used it on my SERG3 and now RG Ultra.  Works very well.

Or get a tour pack extender that moves it back an inch or two.  Forgets who makes it. I think some guy in Davenport IA. Do a forum search.

Just got the HD rolling touring bag let week. 3100 of storage and slips over the drivers backrest. has handle that pulls up and the saddlebag luggage handles slip over to make it easy when you get off the bike to wheel both wherever you are going. Obviously I ride solo

I use the T-Bag, Route 66 and top roll.  I can carry a lot.  I turn it around and run it on the back seat.

I defiantly have to make adjustments to the tour pack, only thing it's a detachable. Just got the bike two months ago, guaranteed the wife gonna complain about the room. Good thing it's detachable. Went out and got a roll bag for the rack. Two week trip down to the Keys. Thanks

I've got a T-Bag similar to Dave's above, but without the top bag.  Mine is huge and holds a boatload of stuff.

Antony, if she needs more room this is the ticket.  I also have a removable tour pak and this will add room for my wife. When I ride solo on trips, I shorten up the length. It only takes 3 min to adjust a couple of bolts.  She'll love you for it.

I put the Kuryakyn adjustable on my 13 Limited but put the one they sell that has three positions.  Half the price and I never moved the adjustable one after installing it. The plates are pretty nice thick pieces of aluminum I'm very happy with them.

I have a Road Ready Backseat Bag that I did use as luggage. It was a great backrest but had no give and weighed a lot when loaded. I still use the bag but now I have a twin size air bed inside partially inflated. It is the best backrest I have ever used. It weighs less than 10lbs and I now carry all my other stuff in my tow behind trailer. Trailer is a Rednecktec 1 and cost me lessthan $500.00 to build.  ;D
