Tank medallions
« on: February 06, 2018, 01:54:22 PM »

Hey everyone! I snagged the right side tank medallion on my 09 RG getting off the motorcycle. I  somehow snagged it and tore off the pointed end and pealed the end away from the tank. Does anyone have the part number and the price on a replacement medallion? Thanks in advance for the help!

I personally hate the pointed ends on the logo.  Always doing the same but have not ripped it off yet.  I was really thinking about having the logo painted on.  Would make for a no snag logo.

Snagged the money side of the tank medallion on my '15 while washing.  Instead of replacing that dang thing and taking another chance, I removed both sides.  Have had lots of comments on it since and am still glad I did....makes cleaning/waxing the tank much easier, too.

As long as you are replacing, look at other options

Thanks everyone! I'm going to consider my options and go from there. Looks good both ways, with and without the medallion.

Mine didn't break. I just didn't like having the same crappy ones that all Harleys had in 2015. I got some of the Eagles like in pic above. I took mine off and haven't decided if I'm putting Eagles on or not. I think I may have originals lying around if you want them.

Hung the badge on my 2015 CVORGU twice and tore it loose.  Badge was just thin sheet metal with a plastic filler underneath.  Dealer replaced it the first time under warranty and probably would have the second.  After the second one came loose I took both off and replaced with the eagle head in bigchuck's photo above.  Its a bit heavier metal with fewer sharp edges and so far so good.

I ended up putting the Emblem from the 2011 CVO Street Glide on the tank. It didn't look all that bad without the stock emblems but it really looks sweet with the ones from the "11 SG. Good idea bigchuck ! Thanks.

I agree... This is the 3rd tank badge I've had on mine, making it unique.   ;D

Glad it worked out for you. The only tank badges I like better are the painted on ones.

G'Day all y'all,

Anybody got a part number for the screaming eagle badges?

Cheers Tom
