We stopped at Lord Armstrong's humble little dwelling.  His home was the ever first home to have Hydroelectric throughout his home

We then carried on to a place called Alnwick. There is a 950 year old castle that has been lived in by the same family and are still living in it. We could go in parts of the home but we could not take pics of the inside.

Thanks first two filmings of Harry Potter  were filmed at this castle "and we didn't have to go to platform 9 1/2 to get there"  :huepfenlol2:  Tomorrow it's to the coastline

Had a great days ride to the North Sea  coastline we headed to Bamburgh Castle that Dates back to the year 547.
The Vikings attacked it two times and then it sat for a 100yrs before being rebuilt.
You'll see in some pics how the wind has eroded away into the stone walls.
It was also owned by the Lord Armstrong's family.
In the link of pics there's pics of the castles history,
There's also  in the pic the first inspiration of Harley Davidson  I think you'll recognise it when you see it  :huepfenlol2:

Enjoyed taking the trip with you both, Pete.  Looks like the weather cooperated with your excursion North.  I enjoy looking at the old castles/dwellings with all that intricate carving and wood work.  There is an old world majesty about that type thing.  There is an old church in Santa Fe, NM that has spiral staircase made entirely out of one piece of wood.  I stayed in that place for a couple of hours just looking at that one feature not including everything else in there.

I guess when Vickie and I get over to your side of the pond, I'll have to set aside a week or two to take in all the wood/stone work your country has to offer... :2vrolijk_21:

I agree with you on that Howard,

I'm captivated by it as well. The quality of wood , stone , jewellery , iron workmanship for back in the day is unprecedented .

Pleased you all enjoyed the pic.
I had a great time taking them. Had a great few days up there and the riding in the hills and valleys was also a real enjoyable experience.
