[smiley=6.gif] Congratulations REO, I am still waiting. I think I will call the dealer today to see if there is any word on my bike. What detachable saddlebags did you go with?

I have already purchased the following mods, I just need a bike to put them on:

Vance and Hines BIG SHOTS Staggered Exhaust
PowerCommander
Passing Lamps
Detachable Windshield
Lindy Highway Bar
kuryakyn L.E.D. Fuel and Battery Gauge
kuryakyn Vented Flush Mount Gas Caps

Thanks johnb, looks like you have the same idea from the accesories your using on your bike. The bags are the large leather saddlebags 90119-00A (12t x 8d x 17.8l)

Those are the first up close photos I've seen of the red Fatboy.  Really nice.  The painted frames on those really stand out.  Congratulations.  By the way, are the dealers giving the Fatboy owners any advance notice about care and maintenance on the ground metal areas.  Seems like even the slightest little chip in the clear coat there would be a recipe for creeping rust under the paint.  Especially up on the front fender.

Anyway, outstanding ride.  Congratulations again!

Reo, great looking ride!  Walters Bros. here in Peoria sold a red one recently, but I didn't get a chance to see it before it got delivered.  From the photos it looks very striking!  Thanks for posting. [smiley=beerchug.gif]

REO let me know how the seat rides. I was Dallas last week and stopped a HD dealer on my way back to the airport to see a blue FLSTFSE they had. Man when HQ described the seat a hard pan, they meant it. I have already started looking for a replacement seat, but have not found anything that will work yet.

Again johnb your on the same page as I am. The seat that comes on this bike is oviously just for looks. I have already made plans to fit a Mustang solo with the passenger pillion for long rides with my Wife, for short distance my plan is to use the Mustang solo with either making a custom bracket trying to fit the chrome cvo dovetail or if I cant get it to work to use the fender bib available from Mustang. I will probably go with the vintage solo with backrest, the backrest is removable as is the passenger pillion, these are available in 15" and 17.5" I will probably go with the 15".

REO, I am glad we live in two different locations (just kidding) because I think our bikes are going to have a lot of the same features. Just to make sure we are a little bit different, I will go with the Corbin Close Solo (see pic) without the studs.

I modified my other posts including the pics to make the thread easier to read.

johnb I havent totaly ruled out the Corbon, I do like the solo you showed but without the studs. My problem is, I havent seen any pillions they make that would work for long rides with my wife.

I guess I could get the Corbon solo for my every day driving and get a Corbon Dual Tour style for long rides with her  [smiley=confused.gif] [smiley=confused.gif] [smiley=confused.gif]

Its been raining here all week 2soaper, making me very anxious but yesterday we finally got a break in the weather. I picked the bike up Friday afternoon from the dealer making the 51 mile 45 degree temperature journey home, following the narrow rpm break-in guideline Harley recommends.

The balance and ride feel very good on this bike and the vibration is minimal. The staggered Rinehart

2soaper I ended up going with the Nostalgic Detachable King-Size Windshield for FL Softail Models (57140-05) but I cannot guarantee you that it will work with the tac because I don

Yes 2soaper as rainman said I used the Nostalgic Detachable King-Size Windshield for FL Softail Models (57140-05) on my bike and it fits fine giving about an inch of clearance at the bottom of the tack housing, I especialy like the old Nostalgic look with the Harley badge inside the horseshoe. You can see this windshield at the Harley dealer mounted on the flstn called the Deluxe.

I was also going to  use the Deluxe bracket for my road lamps but my dealer installed the incorrect bracket, you may not be able to see this from the pic below.
