Sorry to bring you all down. I need to get this off my chest. My eyes are watery as I write this. My daughter just called me. She's 24. She just found out her friend died in the shower today. No drugs or booze. Nobody knows what happened. The coroner will let the family know. His name was Drew . He was 28. Really nice fellow! What a damn shame!

So when people ask you why you ride, just remember one day we all wake up dead! You never know when or why. You could cross the street and get run over by a bus. All I know is, I've been  fortunate enough to be sucking air and walking for over 52 years now. I've been riding since I'm 14. I love it more than anything besides my family! The world's been around for 5 Billion Years, they've only been making motorcycles for over 100. They've only been really good for over 50 of those 100. I know and appreciate what the hell I'm here for! Enjoy every day of your life and live each one as if it's your last. Cause you never know when it will be!!!

Bless Drew's soul and may he rest in peace!!!

If we're smart, of have seen those types of misfortune too close to home, we're completely aware of our own mortality.  Appreciated correctly that's part of what makes the ride (figurative and literal) worthwhile.  All apologies to the family for the loss of the friend.  Enjoy tomorrow just a bit more to honor the young man's short life.

Thanks for the kind words all. My daughter's here with her friends. They're all kinda shocked by it. I spoke with them a little bit, and they're dealing with it OK. They're a good group. Strong and smart. Remember, suck all you can out of life. The only thing you don't want to have in the end is any regrets! Live, Love, and Ride my brothers and sisters!!! Hoist! 8)

Our losses are all tough but it is always a bit more so when a young person is gone.

I was thinking about getting a mat for the shower the other day, I know it is a place accidents often happen. 

My thoughts and prayers for your daughter and her loss and for Drew.

The other day the Chevy dealer in our town called his hon and said he was having problems at home (11pm).  By the time the medics got there he was gone.  58, on top of his game of life, new house, successful business and great community supporter.

Live each day to its fullest, that is for sure.

Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers. This type of thing really gets you thinking about your priorities. My daughter told me he had Diabetes. It probably had something to do with that. It just makes us appreciate more, the things we do and the little time we really have! Hoist!
