2020 CVO Street Glide crash bar and highway pegs.
« on: May 15, 2020, 07:25:01 AM »

So I just picked up a 2020 CVO Street Glide in Sand Dune and am really enjoying it but I am having an issue with my highway pegs. I added the short angle highway peg mounts like I have on my last 2 bikes and after riding it a few times felt really cramped so I took some measurements and realize now the chopped crash bar is way closer to the floor boards then the standard crash bur thus putting the highway pegs to close. I’m thinking the billet aluminum peg mounts that have no extension arm mounted on the crash bar will put my feet right about where I want them but I’m not sure and they offer almost no adjustability. Does anyone have experience with these or other options? I’m also wondering if I can just add the tall crash bar? I’m spoiled by having lowers on my last 2 bikes and I’m missing them but I figure I can add soft lowers on a standard crash bar to get the same protection when I want it. It does not look like hard lowers are available yet.

since that bike comes with the chopped crash bar, hd is probably not going to sell lowers with that paint scheme.  you're probably looking at getting them custom painted to match.  it looks like swapping the chopped bar for the full-size is a fairly straight forward process.  you don't have the full fairing spoiler like the road glide does, so no worries about that.  you can pick up a full size crash bar from eBay for about $100.  looking at the parts breakdown, there doesn't appear to be any thing that would be in the way that would preclude you from doing that.

The billet mounts will be the way to go for now. You may need to hog out the inside and use some grip tape like I did which is kind of a pain but it will work, until you break down and spend the money, like several of us with 2018 CVO RGs have, to upgrade the crash bar and add lowers. Having had them in the past you won't be happy until you do!

The same color is available on the Limited CVO. So the color matched lowers and standard bars are available. The issue is whether HD will sell it to you with your VIN

I was wondering about that but those lowers are set up for twin cooling. So they might look weird!

After playing around with  the adjustments I came up with a comfortable spit. It took 2 guys and over an hour though lol.

I have been using the Ciro 3D Frame mounted pegs and they are great. They don't involve the crash guards at all.

I bought new aftermarket soft lowers on line for my 2020 street glide cvo not as good as the large style but they help.
