Suspension
« on: June 01, 2020, 06:25:14 AM »

Finally got my 2020 cvo RG! Going to change the rear suspension and was wondering if anyone knows the best air ride? My buddy has the dirty air setup with the ride height repeater and fast up tank and it seems decent. I was looking at the legends air but not sure how it is.

I just put the dirty Air alum shocks and they are a wonderful change to the DIY shocks. They are a little pricey but do a good job low air are all the way up!

I went with legend suspension on the 19rg.   No regrets. So much of an improvement over the stock stuff.  You will love it.  Stuart.  Do front and rear.   👍

If you are looking for the best ride quality stay away from the air systems. You cannot beat a quality coil over type shock. We sell lots of the Legends shocks. Great ride quality and a lifetime warranty.

I agree with hd-dude. Air shocks will get you a smooth ride on straight flat roads and you look cool lowering your bike when you get off of it. For total ride and handling in curves and rough rode you need a coil over. I installed Ohlins this winter and my ultra hugs the road a lot better now.

That's all fine and dandy unless you can't touch the ground, lol, like me! Then you need air.

Spend a little more for Legend Revo's, you won't be sorry. I went with the Revo A's and wish I'd done it sooner. The Legends don't require servicing or rebuilding, supposedly either. Several on here have sold their Progressives and upgraded.

Tried Progressive once, that was a waist of money.  Stay stock or spend a bit more and get Legends or Ohlin.

I put a set of Progressive 944's on my '09 SERG and thought they were great. Sold them to a buddy when I bought the '15 and he had been using them up until last fall when he convinced himself he needed the Ohlins. I rode it before and after, see no difference myself. He has since told me he feels it was a major mistake he will never make again and is trying to sell them to a guy he works with.
I know most on here think Ohlins are the berries, to me cost exceeds value and then there is the rebuild costs. Just not for me. Replace the Progressives every 40K for about same money as, what I have been told would be the two necessary rebuilds at 20K and then again at 40K on the Ohlins. TO each his own.
