Removal of lowers on 2019 CVO Street Glide
« on: January 18, 2021, 12:34:30 PM »

Odd question for the group. Are you able to remove the lowers with the speakers on a 2019 CVO? I’m looking at one now and am curious whether I would be able to ride without them at times. Thanks in advance.

I'm sure they'd come off. The big question I'd put out there is it safe to run an amp with no speakers hooked up to it. Not sure if that amp needs to see the resistance from the speakers to not overheat or something strange. I'd guess if that were the case, you could reach inside the saddlebag and pull the plug on that amp or the fuse if there is one directly on the amp.

Thank you, those are the types of things I am curious about. If anyone else thinks of others, please let me know.

Not sure the amp would have to be disconnected.

Many people removed tour packs on CVO Ultras.  They had speakers.  My 15 and the 16 the amp was not in the tour pack like earlier years.  I made mine quick detach and it was off much more than on.  I never unplugged the amp.  Worked fine when traded with 45K miles.

I took mine off and didn’t have a problem. I just unplugged them right under the oil cooler and used a rubber plug that goes in the socket where they plug in to.

Hey where did you get the rubber plug? I’d like to get these and do the same so in later summer I can put them back on when it starts to get cold.
