Just curious to what big bore kits will bolt on to the CVO 103 without having to do a case bore? Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

106" or 107" boring your cylinders. I like the 106", because it leaves room for 1 more bore on your cylinders.
Harley, and S&S offer 110" drop on kits. New cylinders. Your choice.

I agreed with John's reasoning and let him go that way with my SEEG. I like the idea of leaving 1 bore and keeping original cylinders for sleeper look. While your at it, get rid of the cam chain tensioner and go gear drive for maintain free piece of mind.

FWIW I've had good luck with a couple 103 to 107 builds.  Had a red 05 that was mostly stock except for the engine work.  The engine dyno'd out in the low 120s with a tune that didn't ping, ding, and would take wing.  It can make a really nice build.

You are not wrong Gary. That's a thought I've had more than once. It's surprised me then how little I was riding that bike after I finished building the Road King. It was hard to justify. The fact that it was a logical and rational choice doesn't mean that it was the smart one.

Having said all that now several years later having the little FXR has a bike to play on and throw around a bit locally has been an excellent replacement. 35 years ago bites less capable than that I wouldn't have given a thought to heading out across country on. Now it's the afternoon or maybe weekend play bike. The Road King gets much the same treatment. Anything of any distance I still climb on the road glide now as I did when I sold the red bike.

They're all machines I've really liked. I don't buy into the soul some ascribe to the machines but I certainly do enjoy them.

We do many 107 kits and now that we are a distributor for KB pistons the issues have gone away. The 107" KB forged 4032 alloy piston is a great design and includes line2line coating and an anodized top and top ring groove.

Anodized sure looks pretty, post box and pre jug. Is it more than just pretty? Does it do anything for the inevitable carbon build up?

Anodized top and ring groove adds strength to the top ring groove and reflects hear, thus lower oil temperature. Under piston squirters will be hitting cooler metal. Heat held in the chamber to potentially make more power.

I had an 04 SEEG. I did the 4.060 cylinders to give me 113 ci. It ran very well with the SE Heads with the huge chambers. Zippers did the head work and the build. It dynoed at 132 square with a stock TB.

The 103 CVO is a different animal and needs special treatment.  They  can run very well without breaking the bank.
