131 BUILD COMPLETE - NEED EXHAUST RECOMMENDATIONS
« on: January 12, 2021, 06:03:47 PM »

Just completed my 131 build, info on a different post.  I love the numbers (135/150) but I don't like the way the dyno curve looks.  I'm considering a 2-1 exhaust to replace my 2-1-2.  Any recommendations.

I may be a little partial, but you could look at D&D. I don't have the results you have so I only have the FatCat, but I am constantly getting compliments on the sound, and the fit and finish are superb. I think the Boarzilla would be something to consider.

Cheers  :drink:

Another vote for the D&D Exhaust. Zippers turned me on to them in 2004. They have been on every bike I have bought since.

Exactly.  A good friend is running the D&D Billit cat on his built M8, Sounds great and a good torque curve.

I am running the Fullsac MX head pipe, and his 2.25 cores.  Great torque curve and great power 163 HP and 167 Torque.  It's not quite as loud as the D&D but sounds great and nice bark when you get on it.  Looks stock.

Thanks for the responses.. I have a Brother that runs the D&D Borzilla on a fully built 117 twin cam.  I love the sound.  Up until this point, I have stubbornly resisted the look of a single sided exhaust on a bagger.  The duals look more balanced (running RC Components RCX Tormentor and 4.5" cans).  I will not spend the $$$ for a ghost pipe.  My OCD may just have to STFU.  I'm going to ride this until early summer to see how I like it.

You run a big risk comparing results from Twin Cams. They have very different needs and cam timing.

The comparison wasn't the numbers, just the sound and look.  My numbers dwarf his.

I didn't see anywhere if you posted what slip-ons you were using with your 2-1-2. Those may be the culprit and your head pipe may be fine.

Don,

Have you considered WEGNER Exhaust Header partnered with their proprietary Super Trapp Mufflers. I put a set on my 2010 SE 120R and Hp and TQ increased dramatically over previous exhaust system, approx. 130/134, Only engine mods TMan 625 Cams change injectors (forgot what size, just over stock) S&S lifters

I could not agree more with the D&D Billet Cats.  Extremely well made with amazing fit and finish.  Don't even get me started on the performance.  By the way, you can buy a ghost pipe for the left side of the bike to add that dual exhaust look.

I have seen a fellow here in Iowa that ran a D&D with a factory end cap and used left side can as a ghost . Said he had to trim the D&D a touch so that tips where same length .... looked very good

Have you looked at the Khrome Werks complete exhaust? It duals 2/1/2 and competes with D&D on the Dyno and has a great sound. Check out Moonshine HD builds they have MVO pulling away and doing some drive byes with them installed.
