EVOLUTION INDUSTRIES CLUTCH PRODUCTS
« on: March 10, 2021, 07:09:11 AM »

Has anyone used any of the Evolution Industries Clutch Basket, Clutches or thier Variable Pressure Plate Kit (By AIM)? I am considering switching out my Baker 9 Plate Street Clutch. I hate too because it's such a Nice Peice of work. Problem is the standard Diaphragm Clutch Spring is too week, the Racing one destroyed my Clutch hand after several years and trips to the Smokies.
   I have a Scorpion Clutch in my FXR4 S&S V111 but I
Hate to yank it to put in RK S&S V124. So I am looking at the EVO IND Complete Clutch,  that includes Baker and Clutch.  I have a friend that says his is easy to pull and doesn't slip with his V124. 139 HP. He claims.  I guess I can try it then maybe add the Variable Pressure Plate part by AIM.
So with all that said as to why I need to change,  anyone got any insight Pros or Cons?

After several years and many miles on the Baker Clutch with Racing Diaphragm Clutch Spring my hand
Is in constant pain. I installed a Baker FF Hydraulic Clutch Cover with HD master cylinder and standard Baker Spring.  It's easier but now the Clutch slipps again.  The Hydraulic clutch was still hard to pull when using race Spring.
So I ordered Evolution Industries  Clutch Basket,  Stage-1 Terminator Clutch  and the Aim CF2 EVO Ind sells for this Clutch along with the 1/2" Derby Cover Spacer. The Evolution Stage-1 Clutch is supposed to be an easy pull, the Baker Hydraulic Cover should help even more then with the AIM CF2 should make my hand happy again. I can ride with pain but if I get hand surgery I may not be riding at all. Opinions?  Comments? Thanks

I am waiting on a new HD transmission Mainshaft nut. The Baker i removed had a special nut and over time I lost the original nut. Once I get that I can put back together Again! Soaked plated in Spectro Primary Oil. They said not to use Synthetic because it could cause the clutch to slip

Can't answer for the clutch pack, but the AIM hat has worked very well for me, and really feel no difference in lever pull in the upper rpm range.

Ok thanks,  thats good to know. I spend a lot of Money to be able to shift without hurting my Damaged thumb and palm joint area. I don't want to Stop Riding! I have the Baker Hydraulic Clutch Cover and HD V-Rod Hydraulic Master Cylinder. This combo  should work for me.

Should work good. I am running the VP95, Alto Carbonite clutch pack, with the srock CVO spring. 130/130 and the bike is loaded pretty heavy once myself, the wife, and the trailer, never a hint of clutch slip even pulling the mountains in Colorado. Can't honestly say that I feel any difference in lever pull

When I had the Baker Clutch with race diaphragm clutch spring the lever pull was in excess of 40 lbs the limit of my scale. After I killed my hand from riding two years 20k miles and two Tennessee trips,
I went to Baker Hydraulic Clutch with thier standard spand pull was almost 20 lbs. With the cost of The Baker Hydraulic Clutch Cover, HD V-ROD master cylinder,  EVO Ind Stage-1 Terminator Clutch with AIM
VPP , cost is at 2k. Hope my hand appreciates it!

I have no idea what a spring scale would show on mine. Thinking I have one in the toolbox though.

Missing around in the garage this afternoon and happened to think about this thread. Placed a tip tie at the ball of the lever and pulls constantly in that 22 to 24 lbs range. Check my notes to see what spring I had in the bike right now and it has the 380 lbs S&S spring in it. I know the pull will change by where you hook the scale but that was the easiest place to stay consistent

Yes, I attached mine at the Ball end of the lever where the greatest leverage is too.
