TPMS sensor activation
« on: March 14, 2021, 07:00:14 PM »

Put a fat front tire on the Road Glide.  Can I activate the tpms sensor or do I have to go to the dealer?

Picture of the fat tire? I'll post one tomorrow but, trust me, it looks great!

Should be able to take the sensor from the original rim, put it in the new rim and have no need to do any activation.

Thanks Joel. I thought about that a little too late.

Did you ever sort out the process to pair a new TPMS sensor? I am Interested in learning how to do this as well.

Hi Dave,

I couldn't find any way to do it myself so I ended up taking the bike to the local dealership. It cost me 1/2 hour labor to get it done. I had an appointment and was in and out really quickly. Except that I like to do everything myself, it was fairly painless and everything is working now.

I'll continue to look for some way to do it myself in the future. I have TTS tuners on the bikes and the Daytona Twin Scan 4 tool for bleeding the ABS systems. Hopefully one of them will do an upgrade that will include initializing TPMS sensors but, if somebody else makes one I'll probably buy it. If I were younger, I'd try to find a way to buy a Digital Tech system  ;D. Let me know if you come up with a solution.

Joe
