I think HD knows it's base. Dealer I contacted has orders for 3 as of today.

My local dealer said they were only allowed to receive 1.
I guess it could be a sales ploy.

I am sure what the dealer receives is based on dealers sales History.  1500 bikes means some dealers will get more than one, some maybe even 3 or 4.

Some dealers do not get any CVO's, some only one or two, others get 15 or more.

That would be Awesome if they did a new "Sturgis" or "Daytona" Revival.

A version of this discussion came up a couple months ago.  Dood and I and others I don't remember saw the future and had a chat about Harley doing a truly retro model.  Not like these era specific color coated variations but actual retro models.  Modern capabilities wrapped around a Panhead looking engine and color and general layout.  Something like that rather than these not-necessarily-bad-but-half-assed-retro-looking models would be a truer Gestalt-retro offering than just taking the old color palettes to the new tins.

Agreed, but HD counts on you to buy all that stuff out of the catalog.  A simple search can get you "vintage" floorboards, shifters, grips, bags, spoked wheels, fringe things, fin tipped mufflers, tombstone windshield, old style air cleaner cover, old style horn, and old round mirrors.  Then get Joe Zettlemoyer to paint it in vintage colors and there you have it.

One hit my local dealership today.

I don't understand why they would ever put black on the top of the seat, when an all white seat would be not only closer to the original but also a whole lot cooler to sit on.   :nixweiss:

A friend of mine just put down a deposit on the one and only Revival his dealer expects to see come through his doors, according to what the MoCo informed them.

Agreed.  But white collects and shows dirt and road grime much more easily. That's why most leather jackets are Black or Dark Brown. Imagine how the seat would look after a couple of 500 mile days with your butt rubbing dirt and grime into it.  Same with the white rubber grips.  Your hands will just grind all that dirt into the grips and make them look bad.

But I could be wrong.
