Extended warranty

Just bought a 2021 CVO Streetglide having my dealer install the 131ci kit before I take it home.

Should I consider the extended warranty? Thank you.

I have been known to get on it from time to time. Also I’ll easily put 20k on it in first year.

I suggest you talk with your dealer about the 131 upgrade and the extended warranty.

If the warranty is from a outside company they may not honor any claims.

Your 131 will be covered by your bikes 2 year warranty. Per HD, "When installed by an authorized Harley-Davidson Dealer within 60 days of the vehicle purchase, compliant kits do not impact the vehicle’s limited warranty."

Yes the 131 kit is fully covered by my standard 2 year warranty. I was curious about the extended warranty. I’ve never gotten an extended warranty for anything before. So I can’t say they are good or bad.

You are correct on the standard HD warranty as long as you conform to their increasing exceptions to modifications after rhe install….different tuner, pipes..etc. My point is that increasingly the extended waranty is sold by the dealer but is not a HD product and MAY NOT cover the upgrade.. A discussion with the dealer and reading the exception portion of the extended warranty should answer your questions.

I Hope it works out.
