2008 SESG, Screamin Eagle Street Glide
« on: April 01, 2007, 12:14:03 PM »

I was in the dealer yesterday and ordered my 2008 SESG.

Well, I know that they may not be in the pipeline but why take a chance.  I figure the SEUC will be gone this year since it has been with us two years now and what better bagger to do the CVO thing to than a Street Glide.

Anyway here's hopin' tht the MoCo has the same line of thinking goin' and I'll be the first on my block to have one.  When I told the manager to put me on the list she asked what color?  I told her as dark as possible, [referably Black if it's in the major design of the paint scheme, crap, I think I'll call back and tell her unless there is a  :pumpkin: .

I love the orange Road Glide B B has and the bikes like d00d's.

Oh well, something to dream about anyway.

Screamin Eagle Electra Glide two years in a row then Screamin Eagle Ultra Classic two years in a row..........don't think it will be another Electra Glide chassis.  My guess would be a Screamin Eagle Road Glide......can we add the 120" motor and ABS brakes.......good to go.

Wake up Rog!
I ordered 2 in Feb.

That's the plan, unless I find a 03 S/B Classic for Nancy!
Whats really bad, I have the sterling silver lighted saddlebag spoilers for a bike I don't even own.
A fine 95" 115 H/P in a 03 S/B Classic will keep me from screwing with those 02 sensors in the 08's.
And save me about 50K!

Look at the best selling models out there.
The 04's, the 05's, the 06's, the 07's.
Not trying to hurt anybody's feelings but R/G's didn't excite the population like the EG's and UC's.
And imagine this, Harley is all about turning over units for profit.
There is glory in making a better bike but there is profit in making bikes everyone wants.
Guess which one wins, Glory or Profit?

 :2vrolijk_21:

And to add,
On this site look at

SEUC   17,177 post    813 topics
SEEG   23,841 post    1206 topics
SERG   1587 post       177 topics

I like a R/G but if Harley is about profit, guess the direction they will go using this board as a guideline. :nixweiss:

I'll have to agree w/Chip on this. Nothing against RG's, but I feel the SG's were introduced because of how well the 04 & 05 SEEG sold. I think it's about time that a SESG was introduced.  Going to throw a little kink in the train of thought here. What if the MoCo departed from all the chrome additions on a CVO and come out w/a blacked out version of a CVO (like the 1200 Sportster Nightser and VRSCDX Night Rod). How do you think that would sell?

I am hoping for 2008 SERG and yes I already have 1st dibs at my local dealer
If it happens to be a 2008 SESG I may go with it also but if I could have my way Road Glide
I would also bet that if the MoCo does a SERG all Million  3,600 of them will be sold
Oh yeah 120" Motor, ABS Brakes and more bling....please

Also like the FLHX very much.  In fact it is one of my two favorite "stock" models (can't make up my mind from day to day).  My one thought on an FLHXSE, however, is how it would be implemented.  Would very curious how the kitchen sink approach of adding so much to the bikes stock would be done on a model whose forte' is being stripped down and clean.

Well, to an extent I'd have to agree with you Chip.  The numbers tell a story.  And I think the majority prefer the Electra Glide over the Road Glide as far as Harley OCD goes.  If you take a look at all bikes with the Goldwing style fairing, then that might not prove to be the case.  Anyway, take the Road Glide and throw a bigger motor in it and a couple other new features (ABS?) and they'll sell there fare share of SERGs.

Having said that.......I'd rather see a SE Street Glide.  Wouldn't that be a SEEG with a rear fender extension? :2vrolijk_21:

We know the SERK will have one more year to go.  You think there's even a possibility they'd skip a year before adding another touring model back in to the mix?

If they did the might feel they'd be far enough way (in time) from the original platform to do a SEEG3.  Who knows.....   I'll still always bet on the SE Servicar.

Gary, I've been a sucker for the black out theme since I saw my first Sportster that way back in the 70's.  I love the nightster, just doesn't suit my riding regimin.

That's why I was thinking the blacked out/black chrome version. Still looks minimal, but a custom touch added. Then add the extra electronics (GPS, Bluetooth, etc), and bump the motor up, maybe even offer it w/a chopped tourpak. :nixweiss:
