As a young private back in '88 I lived in an apartment in San Antonio, my nieghbor worked for pearl brewery. She new we were hurting for $$$ and would bring me a 12 pack of pearl light every friday, OMG, that was chit. My wife and I ate ramen and hot dogs just so we could afford formula for the baby. Although I was short on $$$, I gave that chit away to my boys who lived in the barracks. The bride and I would share cheap bottles of Boones...

Funny story: When I lived in the D.C. area there was a tiny little western bar with a pool table and lots of good ole boys. Needless to say Budweiser was the beer of choice at about $4 a pop, but they did have a few micros. There was about a case of Sam Smiths Nut Brown Ale in the fridge that nobody would touch. The bartender offered to sell it to us for $2 a bottle and we finished it up by the end of the week.

The Blue Moon Nut Brown ale was also good, but I think it has been discontinued. The White Ale on tap is excellent.

The White Ale on tap is excellent.

Where have you been able to locate it on tap? All that can be found here is the 12 ounce glass bottles......

Did the Tibeten Sherpa's get you to try that while you were in the Himalaya's . I've heard they do that so they don't have to carry water up the mountainside

If you want a great alterate to Blue Moon try Hoegarten, it is much more complex in flavor, a nice head with staying power, and best of all it is not bitter like blue moon.Oh, and did I mention you don't need the girly orange slice to go with it.
