I generally prefer Cointrou when concocting home style margahooties...El Paso Chile Co makes a killer mix for a top shelf, or Texas Gold style margahootie, which contains real key lime juice, some orange juice.  Real tasty.  I've never tried mixing beer in, but will have to give that a go.

I just wish our state lawmakers would get realistic and allow beers with more than 6% content, so we could get some of the specialty brews around here.  Goofy.

Already raining here and the wind's kicking up, so enjoy your day...I'm in couch potato mode for the day.

Got back from riding to lunch & the lake for a quick brewski about 15 minutes before the bottom dropped out.  My better half had threatened me & our riding buds with our lives if we got wet - no rain on the ride, but WINDY.  I lucked out for once....

Terry - yours is very similar to my homemade concoction.   I use Patron now since I like the taste of the blue agave stuff better, even in mixers.  Several others work well as tekillyas for us - the 1800 Cuervo is a favorite also.

Cointrou, triple sec, or Grand Marnier, some lime juice, Patron, & a little OJ sometimes.  A few years back a friend in St. Louis had to STRETCH his recipe, due to lack of ingredients, and he used beer.  Worked ok so depending on my mood, I'll add a little at the end to top off the pitcher.  Will try that El Paso Chile mixer stuff - sounds good.

Saw you guys were getting lots of rain.  Stay safe!

Heard on the recent news that Tornados were down in Louisana today.  Hope everyone dodged those. :2vrolijk_21:  spyder

Heard the same here.  Hope all are safe.

For some reason, we rarely get tornadoes in this part of the Florida panhandle.

Safe and sound here, but there were some awful thunderstorms, and a toad strangler rain for an hour or so.  Tornadoes in the area, but not close enough to worry about where I live.

Mike...glad you guys had a nice, safe, and dry ride  :2vrolijk_21:

Still raining this morning, but no bad storms in the area we are aware of.  A little loud about 2 this morning.

Our son's pug loves beer.  Wife just sent me this link.

Night of the Living Ales IV
« Reply #801 on: February 18, 2008, 06:59:20 PM »

For the fourth consecutive year, CBS will be sponsoring the region’s largest celebration of cask-conditioned ales, Night of the Living Ales. This event will feature around 40 casks of real ale from Chicagoland breweries and some very special guests. As always, this promises to be a big firkin deal for area real ale enthusiasts. Attendees will be able to sample the beers and then select the 2008 Champion Real Ale of Chicagoland. Past champions have been Bell’s Two Hearted Ale, Flossmoor Station X-IPA, and Three Floyds Admiral Lord Nelson.

NotLA IV will be held at Goose Island Wrigleyville, 3535 N Clark St, Chicago, The date is March 1st, from 6-10 pm (9:45 last call). Tickets will cost $35 for members, $40 nonmembers, purchased in advance through Chicago Beer Society. Admission includes a tasting glass, unlimited beer samples, and appetizers (artisanal meats and cheeses; Goose Island grub)

I'm so friggin jealous!  That sounds like something I'd REALLY like.  I don't know many people that appreciate REAL beer the way I do.  I've got a lot of friends and neighbors that are lite beer drinkers.  Funny thing though, at my daughter's graduation party, the cooler with the case of Beck's Dark was the 1st one empty.
