Make sure you don't put it in the cooler. It needs to be drunk at room temperature or just below.

Nige, It was good, but probably better locally, the ones I bought were at the end of beer life, bottled in October. With the shipping, and not being a well known beer here it sat for a while. I keep them in the fridge, but when I drink I usually take out four or five before I start. If you like cellar temp beer here in the states, you probably won't find many, some breweries/brew pubs, do but not all. Order two at a time, then the second one will be less chilled!

Probably right on the "better locally" thing Craig.

The very best it can be is when it is served direct from the cask via the hand pump. Then it's down to the local bar and wether they know how to keep, prepare and serve cask beer. When it's right you don't want to go home.

Midwest largest celebration of cask-conditioned ales, "Night of the Living Ales" is this weekend, around 40 casks to sample, all will be served 55 F, its the Law! and some very special ones will be on a hand pump.  :2vrolijk_21:   I can barley contain myself  :huepfenlol2: :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3:

Sure do wish I was there to share it with you. It would be great to sample some Cask beer (USA style).

I drink this beer, it comes from Boulder and is dry hopped, it's got a lot of hop aroma and taste, I really like it.

Agreed.  Had some last weekend & liked it well enough to put it into rotation.  Lots of hops & full taste.

Have not had the Paulaner Double Bock, but I really like Paulaner & love Shiner Bock, so it seems to be a natural.
