Lyndall or DP....look in the Vendor Discount area and there's a vendor who will give members here a discount.  If you have stock calipers, the pads are the same front and rear for almost every bike HD makes with four piston calipers.  Lyndall's will make a significant improvement.

I am very happy with my Lyndall Z brake pads.  Better brake feel and no brake dust.

I've heard good reports about the Lyndall's and will be getting them when it comes time to replace my pads.

Seems like most of the references to brake pads in this and other threads have been to Lyndall pads and have been positive. Is everyone using the Z pad that Boatman referenced or is anyone using the Gold pad? Any noticeable differences? tia, jj

I don't think you want to get the Gold as I was told that they were more suited for racing.  I think they have to be warmed up for full stopping power.  I could be all wet but I believe that is what I was told.  Someone else please help me out.

You may very well be right. I had read the following quote on the Drag Specialties web site in regard to the Z pads.  "A matrix of carbon/Kevlar® and non-ferrous metal similar to L.R.B. Gold Pads in stopping performance, but softened slightly to provide longer service life in the lower temperature ranges found in common street use"  Wasn't sure what they meant by "similar" performance which is what prompted my initial question.  Thanks for your response.

the Z pads should be all you ever need on a street bike, unless you ride awfully hard.  You start getting into rotor wear when you go to the racing applications in brake pads because of the type of material used in the pad.

Totally agree with Boatman....

You won't be disappointed with the Lyndall Z pad :2vrolijk_21: It makes a huge difference. Especially in the rear, no more unexpected lock ups! Great feel all the way around! I'm extremely happy with them :)

Lyndall brake pads without a doubt. There may be pads that are equal to the Lyndall's but I haven't tried them yet as I'm very happy with the Lyndall.

I know it varies by each rider and bike, but as a general statment, how long (miles) will the stock pads usually last?
