Q,
Not to much better down here. Been raining the last two days, and temps don't look that great for the upcoming week. I got spoiled a couple weeks ago riding w/just a t-shirt when the temps were in the high 70's. Hopefully we will not have to deal with this foul weather to much longer.

Big Daddy- are lucky, you could be up here in Maine want to trade?
Tonight
Snow this evening...changing to rain after midnight. Precipitation will be heavy at times. Total snow accumulation 4 to 6 inches. Very windy with lows in the lower 30s. East winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph... increasing to 25 to 35 mph with gusts over 50 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.

Nice Chip! Well power went out earlier today and obviously my sump chit the bed with no power. So I feverishly hunted down a generator and when I got home the power was back. So the water spread was not to bad seeing that I had a bucket brigade to drain the sump pit. So all is well once again. I can't wait to get in the wind for its therapeutic qualities for me. Later,Q

Well, the weather really did suck here on the Maine coast at the beginning of the week and I thought I would share a few pics.  We evacuated, but came back early, because it was driving us crazy. I have a new appreciation for those that leave their homes, possessions, memories behind and wonder if they are still there.  It looked like a war zone, alot of old growth trees over on houses and power lines.  Even reached back into Vermont, which is unusual for a Noreaster, Rutland was under a state of emergency because of all the downed trees.  The winds here gusted at 70 mph, cant imagine what higher hurricane force winds would do.  Yeah, i can imagine, there would be nothing left.

Usually after a Norester or a remnant of a hurricane that makes it this far north, you will find lobster traps on the beach--maybe one, maybe 3 lobster traps to be found.  There were dozens upon dozens everywhere.  Those poor guys who had their traps out lost all of them Im sure.  The waves in the background are 6-8 feet, down from 31 feet max.  Now, thats some power.

The area where the houses are destroyed, about a mile down from me, place called Camp Ellis.  They always get flooded out, but this one was bad.  7 houses destroyed and one VW jetta out to sea.  There used to be a street in front of those houses, now its beach.  The destroyed white house, that was an older gentlemen's house, his grandfather built that house, hes priced out of the market now and will move inland.

My little neighborhood here in Saco came out of this one okay, basically water damage. They called this a 30 year storm, so Im good for another 30.

Wow!

I had no idea.  Weather report did not sink in when they were talking about this.

Hope all of your posesions were safe or salvageable.

Ever want to get away - we are not that far from you, we have a spare bedroom, room in the garage for a bike or two for a week or two.  Anyone who needs to evacuate, let us know.  Now we live in the middle of hurricane ally some years, so I'm looking for the same in return some time.   :nervous:

No, seriously, I had no idea that the weather got that bad.  Hope all in on the mend now.   :cherry:
