[Midnight Rider]

Well, all the visitors to Birmingham are on their way back home now    A national HOG officer training thing was going on here at the same time, so a couple of more CVO members came in and out of the group Thursday night and then then today's ride out to 29 Dreams for breakfast.  Thursday evening, Tbone & Ilene, Johnny, Ultrafxr & J Carolyn, 07hd10, and me & Suzanne met everyone at 2 Pesos for good Mexican food and a brewski or two.

103tHunder, and JR joined the group Friday about noon, after I had taken some of the others on a nice 60 or 70 mile ride through some of the area just South of Birmingham.  After our ride, we went back to Heart of Dixie HD and met up with 103 and JR, then we all went to one of my favorite BBQ places a couple of miles down the road, Tin Roof BBQ.  Here's a pic of the group at Tin Roof...other pics will be posted by others from the couple of places we went to Friday night and Saturday.

After oinking out on ribs, pork shoulder, and trimmings, we saddled up and rode the backroads out to Barber Motorsports Park to visit the Museum.  This is a small sampling of the over 750 Vintage bikes in the Museum.  If you've never been to this place, it is a must see.  Every bike runs and is ridable after restoration, from old to newer.  They fired up a HD Vrod Destoyer a few times during the visit...WOW, that is one wicked sounding bike!!

This bike was used to transport nurses in WWI, if I'm not mistaken....in addition to the beautiful wooden sidecar, there was a trunk on the back of the bike behind the rear fender, and additional storage containers for meds, I would assume, in the round canisters on the side of the bike towards the rear.

08 CVO with Servicar...

This one you could order through the Sears & Roebuck catalog for $165.00...suspension on the front was an additional $10.  Rear wheel is driven by a wooden pulley with a LEATHER belt...to make her go, there's a tank shifter mechanism that engages the belt by way of a belt tensioning device...all nickel plated, of course.

I think this is an Ariel with an enclosed sidecar that seats 2 people!!  Engine is a four square...they had one of these bikes out front and would start it on occasion....thing ran like a top and smooth as silk....very innovative design!!
