For those of you using the Zumo in multiple vehicles, as well as on the bike...I'm not sure if it says this in the manual...I don't remember it if it does.

The gas guage setting where you get reminded at your preset gas mileage to fill up...it only counts miles while on the motorcycle mount.  It actually knows which mount it's on, and
only counts those miles.  I was shocked, but of course, it makes perfect sense.

I was pleased to discover this.

Doc

I noticed the same the other Day I was quite shocked as I did not reset when it was in the truck. Got back on the bike and still kept the miles on the bike. Cool   ;D

I found this splash screen on another forum and thought I would share it here for those that want to personalize their Zumo. For instructions on how to load it into your Zumo refer to page(s) 35, & 47 of your Zumo Owners Manual.

If any of you have the ability/desire I would love to see the Bar and Shield in the previous picture/post replaced with the picture below for a splash screen. I'm not positive but I think the dimensions of the splash screen would have to be the same as the one posted above. TIA for anyone that can make this happen.

Thanks, this is good (I will be saving it in case what I want isn't possible), but what I wanted was..

I still want the Garmin/Zumo to be showing on the left, but replace the bar/shield logo w/our logo. I want both logo's to be showing (Garmin/Zumo and CVOHarley).

That's a pretty nice change. How do you like the Zumo so far?

So far I'm really liking it. Haven't used it on any trips or used it to get me places I haven't been before. Have played with loading "Points Of Interest" (POI's) for H-D dealers and used that to go to my dealer one day and it worked. I also used it last weekend when wife and were out visiting some open house's and she now wants a GPS. The ability of having it wired into stereo and listening to MP3's and have the turn instructions come over stereo really impressed her.

Gary,
Glad you're getting all the tricks of using the Zumo.  I knew you would love using this GPS!  Have you got the Bluetooth figured out yet?  I was out riding yesterday and saw an incoming call, and knew who was calling.  I choose to ignore until I stop, but at least I know when I miss a call.  I really like the change you made to the screen, and that is next on my list to do.  Just wait until you take a trip...it's great.  Take care and ride safe. :2vrolijk_21:

I do have my phone paired to the Zumo, but since I'm not using/have a bluetooth helmet/headset I can't use it while riding. I like the ability to know that I had a call and if the number is in the phonebook I know who called. If it's important enough (wifey) I can stop and call them back. I have loaded the H-D dealers (POI's) for the state of Virginia and have all the H-D for the US, but will only load by state that I'll be travelling in. It is a lot of fun learning this and I can't wait until I use it on a trip.

I loaded the whole thing as soon as I got the Zumo.  It works great, and you even see a little H-D emblem when you get close.  Excellent idea for those times when you need a shirt...ha.

Okay. I have downloaded the POI loader and looked for a help file to read and can't seem to find it. Then I went ahead with the HD download and tried to just drag and drop the "HD Dealers all" file into the POI file in the Zumo. It starts to transfer then says there is not enough space to load it. I'm pretty sure it's me that is the problem here. Any idea's??

Thanks!

You should have a icon for POILoader if you d/l and installed the POILoader program. Once you've done that when you click on the POILoader Icon you should get this screen (see below, icon on left and program screen in middle). Once you have that you can click on "Help" and it will give you instructions on how to load them, or just hit next and follow the instructions. I think the problem/reason you are getting the message that there is not enough space is because this program does something to the files in transfer (makes them smaller). Just dragging/dropping the POI's into your Zumo might not work. I've only loaded up my home state of H-D dealers so I can't say whether all the dealers will load up using available memory in the Garmin. You might need to use a SD card to get them all on. :nixweiss:
