Would the Progressive 440's in the 11.5 be too low for the SEEG..??

Yup...I read throught that, yet wasn't able to walk away with any real feeling of ride height limitations..

Hmm.. I may look around to see if there are any 11.5's on an SEEG or an FLHT for that matter.

Depends on how agressive you ride, I find the stock 12" shocks too low, running board on the right, kick stand on left, hit way too soon.  
But I do like the lower look [smiley=1syellow1.gif]

Yup I agree, it's all about how you ride. Today my stock setup drags(floor boards) a bit when I lean and turn in low.

I'm still so used to my Duece I sold recently. I find myself kinda' throwin' the SEEG around...

I really like the slammed look, but if it makes the bike less useable, I'll stay with stock height and just get the appropreate 440's.

BTW...what is the stock shock length on the '05 SEEG..??

  I am about your weight (175) and I installed the 12" standard 440's. Before doing that I talked with a Progressive tech and asked about the 11.5" and she said if I went with that size I should get the 412's not the 440's. I see what she means, as the 12" 440's are fairly stiff even at the lowest setting, however, they are probably the best improvement I have made on the bike. Stiff as they are, they improve the ride and handeling tremendously. My buddy has the 11.5" 412's on his 01 Electraglide and he likes the handleing but not the ride. I should add that he weighs about 140lbs. [smiley=laugh.gif]

Have had several friends try the 11 1/2 440's to get a lower look in the rear.  All are now on sale on Ebay and have been replaced by the standard 12" series.  If it might help you in finding the adjustment, I weigh 200 and have them set at the second turn up.  For me it is right on the money for handling, ride and comfort.  An added advantage to the 440's that I've found is that it helps greatly in reducing the lift off of the front wheel when running hard through the gears.  Instead of wallowing against the old air shocks during acceleration, the 440's keep the butt firmed up and the front end down.

Any of you guys out there who may be thinking about going to stock front suspension:

Strangely enough, at least for the 04 SEEG's the front end is like the Road King front suspension, NO CARTRIDGE FORK!!!!

I've been toying with the idea of replacing the front springs. A lowered bike and my cornering habits often rub floorboards. [smiley=laugh.gif] [smiley=laugh.gif] [smiley=laugh.gif]

PCC am looking at stock springs from race tech,  since having the outer fairing and the front fender replaced the fender hits the lowers.  The dealer got new brackets for the lowers but they still hit HD doesn't no wHat to to cure the problem so the dealer said try the stock suspension they would pay for it.  Would work well with the 440 that I got 12.5 in,  just not sure that is the way i want to go.  Dealer said once the problem is corrected that Hd will send out new lowers and a front fender.

BLM, so you are running the standards and not the heavy duty?

The 4050 model number is heavy duty. The b designates black, c is chrome. I have the 4050C on mine as I do ride two up quite often and at the lowest preload setting it was initially a little stiff when I installed and rode single but after a couple of hundred miles they are perfect. I still have them set at the lowest preload setting and they are just fine with just myself or when my girl friend is riding with me. I was torn between the standard and the heavy duty until I saw a post on Progressives forum where someone with one of our bikes was complaining about bottoming out with the standard and his weight was not that much different than mine. The answer from Progressive was for him to call and get a different set of springs for his standard shocks.
