I got an email from PHAZE about 1pm today and he says he is home and resting. Doctors say he will be able to ride his Harley in about two weeks!
That's great news, sure beats traditional surgery methods and recovery times.

Hey, I really appreciate all the thoughts and prayers from all!  Things did go well, I'm feeling good, and if it wasn't for a big gas bubble in my stomach that I can't shake, I'd be feeling great.  The throat has been the worst of it.  When I talk too much (easy for me to do), I get sort of worn down.

I don't want to ruin anyone's lunch, but here's a photo with some of the surgery results.  It's a little more than I expected, but a lot less than doing the open heart thing.  They have told me that I can be back on the bike in two weeks (I'm counting from the surgery).

It's amazing what they can do now.  Those incisions are tiny compared to traditional open chest surgery.  Look forward to riding again.

Preston,
That is just amazing the technology that is available these days several years back to have the type surgery you did (repairing a valve) would've required chest to be split. Heck your biggest scar is only half the length of mines (if that much). Glad to hear you are doing well and on the road to recovery. Do everything the Doc/Nurses/Therapist tell you and you'll be good as new before you know it.

I've considered a tatoo, but have never done it.  Maybe I could just have the labels in the photos permanently applied.  I'm looking forward to getting my hair back.  That was sort of a surprise.  They had two ladies with clippers take everthing off pretty much below the chin to ankle tops in the front (and the backs of my legs too).

I'm not going to complain about anything.  I'm so happy that they did not have to split my breast bone.  I understand that the recovery is long and painful.  I know how a cough, laugh, or sneeze feels with a cracked rib, so I know that the breast bone healing can't be any fun.

Glad to hear you are healing well.  If you want to get a tat, that location would be a memorable one.  Not sure about your label ideas though.  :huepfenjump3:
