Colony Chrome Hardware
« on: December 28, 2004, 07:06:21 PM »

Does anyone have any experience with the Colony chrome hardware kits? I am thinking about buying a complete hardware kit for my new FLSTFSE.

I don't have any experience with the colony bolt kits but thanks for pointing me in the direction of the jp cycle/colony option Rainman. Did you see the Custom Chrome eagle caps ??

Now I'm even more confuse of what direction to go [smiley=confused5.gif] [smiley=confused5.gif] [smiley=confused5.gif]

I just looked at the price of these caps  [smiley=shocked2.gif] and now lets say I'm less confused....

A person would have to go out and get a loan to purchase eagle caps for a bike.

Last night I purchased the colony smooth sockethead/buttonhead hardware kit. Between the colony kit and the hot toppers, I should be able to achieve some type of a decent look.

A concern I have about the hot toppers is how hard will it be to get them off? Additionally, I have been looking at Brembo brakes but I am not sure they are worth the cost.

Rainman,  to  get the hottoppers off i  use either needle nose or regular pliers with cloth tape wrapped around the ends of the pliers, actually it  dont take much  for them to  come off.
i suppose  a tool  could be fabbed out with a radius end and a protective  cover on it

Doing the math, it would cost roughly $1,700.  [smiley=shocked2.gif] [smiley=shocked2.gif] [smiley=shocked2.gif] [smiley=shocked2.gif] [smiley=shocked2.gif] [smiley=shocked2.gif] [smiley=shocked2.gif] [smiley=shocked2.gif] [smiley=shocked2.gif] [smiley=shocked2.gif] [smiley=shocked2.gif] [smiley=shocked2.gif] [smiley=shocked2.gif] [smiley=shocked2.gif] [smiley=shocked2.gif] [smiley=shocked2.gif] [smiley=shocked2.gif] my wife puts up with a lot but that would be a tough sell.

I think hottoppers are the best bang for the buck as far as caps go. Those Eagle ones are nice, but think about what else you could do with 1200 bucks instead of buying chrome caps.....hell thats almost two tanks of gas! [smiley=nervous.gif]
