Non Harley Motorcycles
« on: July 02, 2007, 12:09:19 PM »

Hello All,

I was just wondering how many of you have non-Harley motorcycles.  I recently purchased a new 2006 Honda CBR 1000 RR.  The main reason for purchasing the bike was for preservation purposes of my SEUC2.  Because here I ride to work and it rains daily then the sun comes out and gives the paint and chrome a nice waterspot pattern, plus with the commute in the afternoon it is pretty slow and the engine gets pretty hot in stop and go traffic.  I know   :worthless: but I will post some soon.

Yeh, I commute on a little Yamaha 125cc, it saves on the gas, at the equivalent of your $9+ per gallon I can't afford anything else.  I too use it when the weather is crap.

Since that has to be 90% tax, why do people there put up with it?  I mean, I understand the need to fund the gov't, but you guys are getting screwed.

It takes a man of great integrity, candor and courage to admit that.  Sir, you are an oak.  I'm not so sure I could come forth with such an admission.  ;D

We don't currently have a non- Harley in the stable, but I would not be able to ride my SEEG if I had not started on a smaller bike. I learned to ride on an 800 Susuki Intruder, and a few years later traded it in on a 1500 Intruder.  The latter broke me of my fear of the big tank.  Once I got over the mental image of a bigger looking bike, I have never had trouble riding a touring HD bike.  I did, however, have a lot of trouble trying to ride a SE Dyna last Sept at York Open House.  Just cause you can ride a bigger bike, does not mean you can ride a smaller bike.  I've learned my lessons.
