If I recognize the hummingbird hum behind me, and glance in my rear view enough to recognize that a motorcycle would like to pass me, I pull over to the far right side of the road and wave them on.  They are sure not going to get in my way in front of me.

......of course, most scooters are not good investments ($$$-wise)

I'll tell you what the biggest diff. is between HD and non-HD owners ... people who have HD's take care of them, and that helps resale a lot.  Hats off to the Jap/German/Brit/Italian owners who actually do keep their bikes clean and maintained - don't mean to hack anyone in the forum off here - but you're few and far between.  Judging from what I see on the road, Jap bike owners are the worst by far.  I had pretty good luck with reselling my own Yamahas and Hondas, but they were kept garaged, detailed, and covered, and I had full maintenance records and receipts.  I sold my Valkyrie for $500 less than I paid for it, 30k miles later.

spyder

not to take up for the busa but the one I had was the most thrilling, fastest bike I have ever ridden.(177 RWH)
and,,,,,, I sold it back to the guy I bought it from,,,9 months later and 7000 miles for exactly what I paid for it.
that's the exception ,not the rule in jap bike ownership

the guy was building a house and needed some cash.

I was glad to get rid of it,,,,, it scared the chit out of me more times than I care to remember.
Traded 177 hp for the Lowrider with 77.
