Finnish guy living in Germany Ultra CVO 2007
« on: July 23, 2007, 02:05:09 PM »

Hello,
I am 40 years old engineer from Lapland working for the Finnish stainless steel company. I have been riding H-D since 1994 when I bought a Dyna Wide Glide. In the end it had S&S 124 engine but I didn't ride it anymore as 2005 I bought a V-Rod and installed a turbo to it.
At the moment I live in Germany for 3 years and as here you can still ride fast I have two Ducatis, 999S and 1098S. I also have a KTM 525 for enduro and a Honda CR 500 cross machine for hobby racing on the tracks we make on sea or river ice during winter.
As I didn't have a good touring bike and I really miss a Harley engine I decided to buy a new 2007 Ultra CVO. I wanted to have the black/orange colour. It is good on the road even if it is too heavy and opposite to Ducatis in many ways. But if Elvis lived he would ride it...
I already installed SE AC and Race Tuner and deativated both the intake and exhaust actuators.
But as noise rules and emission rules are very strict in Europe I ordered legal Kess-Tech exhaust mufflers. They have servo motors and you can make them silent or loud by pushing a button. Of course if you open them they are illegal but you are making wrong, not the bike.
I have some technical questions but I put them to forum.

I am in Duesseldorf but Ultra CVO, 999S, V-Rod, KTM and Honda are already in Finland waiting for me and next summer.
Have you measured the power or are there curves somewhere from Kess Tech mufflers? Kess Tech owner has himself a 110 but you are right can be loosing power. However, I am not so interested if they are not the most powerful but the sound is right. I had a lot of problems with that 124 S&S with primary and clutch. 135 rwhp is too much for a H-D. This bike I use for cruising and touring.
